The broken seal ll

"A spirit seal?!" Mei jingjing blurted out, they all glanced at her and her hands flew to her mouth immediately shutting herself up.

"Li Jie, you have to go, if you don't go, the beasts will come after you and if you can't find the seal, you will die, you'll definitely find answers on your journey but you have to leave now!"

Li Jie looked a bit conflicted by it, Mei jingjing watched him curiously, he actually looks sad?.

"I'll do as you say mother." he stood up and left, the Queen gazed at Mei jingjing.

"You have to go with him my dear, you're his protector and his wife."

She looked over her cross collar shifting it a little to see her birthmark, she smiled.

"That's what your birthmark states, it's your duty you have to make sure he finds the three seals." she sounded pleading.

Mei jingjing gasped, her birthmark?!, she felt it with her fingers, she had no idea what to say to that and left the room instead, she walked along the hallway lost in her own thoughts feeling her birthmark which suddenly throbbed in pain, should she go with master Li Jie or not?, if she wanted to escape this was her perfect chance but if she does escape, the kingdom as well as it's people might be in a lot of trouble.

She walked into the room to find Li Jie's guards packing his stuff. Li Jie stared out the window looking spaced out.

What suprised her was the fact the maids weren't packing her stuff, she walked up to Li Jie.

"Why aren't they packing my stuffs?"

"Cause you're not coming with me." he replied matter of fact.

"But the Queen said...."

"Doesn't matter, I can't let you go on something as dangerous as this." he said in a grumpy tone.

Mei jingjing pouted stubbornly and hurried over to her closet, brought out her bag and began packing her things as well.

Li Jie watched her a bit stunned, this stubborn woman!, she never listens to anything he tells her and goes ahead to do the exact opposite.

He walked up to her grabbing hold of her hand.

"What did I say to you earlier?" he gazed arrogantly at her, she freed her hand from his hold.

"I'm coming with, not because I care about you but because i care about the safety of the kingdom and it's people."

She replied stubbornly and the look in her eyes told him she wasn't going to change her mind.

"I've never met a girl this stubborn in my life."

"I've never met a guy this arrogant and grumpy through out my whole existence"

They both glared at each other but deep down she was scared to the core afraid he might use his powers on her.

"Do as you please but if you end up dieing, don't blame me."

He walked out leaving her to herself in the room, she eyed him and continued to pack her bags.

Li Jie got to the terrace staring out into the empty front yard of the Lijiang kingdom while gritting his teeth, why did it bother him if she came along or not, she just won't listen and stay behind, it bothered him so much it left him annoyed and frustrated.

Haorang and Chao Xua walked up to him and bowed. "We've packed everything you might need master Li Jie."

Li Jie sighed and suddenly popped a question that left them suprised. "Are all women stubborn?, are they always a headache to their husbands cause I Know my wife is."

"I do not understand young master." Haorang stared blankly at him.

"I'm sure you both understand women more than I do, why doesn't she ever listen to me, she always does what I don't want her to do, now she wants to come with me on this journey, it's frustrating" he sounded annoyed.

"If I must speak master Li Jie, I would say you're worried about her." Chao Xua said with a slight grin.

"Worried?" that totally caught him off guard.

Mei jingjing showed up, she had changed her outfit into a blue kimono looking even more pretty, she had her hair tied into a ponytail and a blue hairpin was added to her hair.

"I'm ready, shall we see the Queen before leaving?" she asked with her soft tiny voice.

The three men stared at her looking a bit stunned, she's really serious about coming along.

"I'm in the Queen's chamber if you're ready to leave." she walked out.

Li Jie sighed deeply, she's what he'll have to deal with through out the journey.

"Should I come along with you on this journey?" Haorang asked politely. Li Jie shook his head.

"If everyone's coming with me, who will protect the Queen."

"But I've worked for you all this years young master."

"Which is why I'm giving you an order to stay here and protect the Queen, I'm trusting you on this so do not let me down."

Haorang nodded politely, "I'll assign the best people to look after the Queen but I'm coming with you young master."

Li Jie sighed, Chao Xua added.

"I'm coming with too."

The look on their faces made it clear they won't change their mind.

Li Jie nodded and walked out, he headed to the Queen's chamber. Mei jingjing as well as weng Lie where there beside her.

"I won't let any harm come to Li Jie, you have my word." Mei jingjing stated clearly which gave the Queen a bit of relief.

"This was the reason you were chosen to protect Li Jie, I hope you two succeed and and end up becoming one on this journey."

Mei jingjing secretly rolled her eyes on the last part.

"We'll be leaving now, take care of yourself mother." weng Lie said.

Li Jie walked in, Queen Jiaying smiled at him. "Li Jie my son."

He sat beside her and placed a kiss on her forehead but kept a straight face.

"Take care mother, I'll be back soon."

They all stood up and left, all the guards and maidens bowed politely as they passed by, they stepped out of the kingdom.

The guards already had their horses prepared, Mei jingjing had no idea how to ride a horse, she scratched her head thinking of an idea, Li Jie noticed her expression and gazed at her.

"You have no idea how to ride a horse do you?" he asked.

She pouted sadly. "I had no one to teach me."

Li Jie got on his horse and stretched his arm to her, she glanced at him.

"You can ride with me."

"Noway!"

"Fine, I'm leaving without you." he started the horse making Mei jingjing gasp, he's really going to leave without her.

"Wait wait wait, fine I'll ride with you." she couldn't believe she just gave in like that but it's not like she had a choice, he was going to leave without her and she was sure he'd do it cause he didn't want her coming along in the first place.

She got on the dark horse with him and they left the palace with the people of Lijiang wishing them good luck and of course the girls waving dreamingly at Li Jie who only nodded politely as they left.

The water beasts known as the yokai was meditating on a huge stone which was in the middle of the huge river. The breeze fluttering his long silver white hair, he opened his eye's and an evil smirk formed on his handsome face, he got to his feet holding a long staff.

"How long I've waited for this, here I come Lijiang kingdom." he laughed and dived into the water.

The forest beast where all racing to Lijiang kingdom.

"We have to get there on time before he flees!" the beast growled and ran even faster.

Li Jie rode faster with Mei jingjing in the front, she's never seen anyone ride so fast before, they planned on covering more grounds and they didn't stop till it was getting to sunset, they were quite far from the kingdom now.

Mei jingjing was feeling nauseous from the whole riding, like Li Jie knew she wasn't feeling too well, he pulled gently on the reins while keeping his legs firm on the stirrup, the horse came to a stop.

"Are you alright?" he asked, she nodded while taking a huge breath.

They got down from the horses, weng Lie glanced at the guards.

"We rest here for tonight."

Mei jingjing laid flat on the soft grass, Li Jie sat beside her, she glared at him while he fixed his expressionless gaze at her.

"Why ride so fast?"

"We had to cover more grounds." his explanation was clear and short leaving Mei jingjing even more annoyed.

She looked away from him turning to the other side.

"Are you hungry?" he asked

At the mention of hunger, her stomach growled answering his question.

"Very hungry infact." he teased, Chao Xua brought food over and handed it to Mei jingjing who took it with a smile.

"Thank you."

"If you need more, you can always ask me." he said in a friendly tone. Mei jingjing stared at him, he was a young soldier who had a friendly smile.

weng Lie plopped beside them eating his own dinner, Li Jie eyed him and got to his feet.

"I'll be back."

He said to Mei jingjing and walked off, she stared at him, where is he going to with an empty stomach?.

"Won't he eat anything?" she asked.

Chao Xua chuckled. "Master Li Jie is unpredictable."

Li Jie headed down the path and arrived at a lake, he washed his face and stared at his reflection on the lake, his golden eyes held nothing but hidden pains and lost memories.

He raised a finger up to the water moving it swiftly, the water responded to his powers and began to rise following his finger, they formed a circle rolling against each other, the lake suddenly stood tall looking really huge enough to swallow hundreds of humans which he only controlled with a finger and they kept following whatever sign he did with his hands.

Mei jingjing hid in a bush watching him wide eyed and kept filling her small mouth with dumpling, how is he able to control such a huge water.

Li Jie suddenly felt off, someone was watching him, he raised a brow and stole a glance at the bush and saw the innocent looking beauty watching him from the bush.

He suddenly had a plan and took small portion of the water letting it roll across his finger, Mei jingjing watched in amazement not untill the water was suddenly directed towards where she was hiding.

Her face turned morbid, why does it look like the water was coming straight at her?, her eyes goggled at it, it's really heading towards her!!

"Aaaahhhhh!!!!!!!" she ran out of her hiding spot as Li Jie continued to chase her with the water.

"Ahhhh!!!, make it stop, make it stop!" she tripped on a twig and fell flat on the soft grass making him snicker.

She glared at Li Jie who cleared his throat.

"Oh sorry, I had no clue you were there." he teased, she got to her feet glaring at him.

He wasn't expecting her to pounce on him the next minute.

"SPLASH!!"

They both fell into the lake, he tried to get up but she grabbed his leg dragging him down to the water causing another splash, she got untop of him and splashed water on him.

"How dare you chase me with water." she continued to splash him, he held her hand and rolled her unto her back as he stared into her big eyes.

"You enjoy getting physical with me don't you?"

She kicked him off her and they kept rolling against each other on the lake leaving them soaking wet. She kicked him and tried to run away but he held her hand pulling her back into the lake causing another splash, they were having a romantic fun time without even realizing it.

What crazy couples they were.
