My heart yawns for you

Night had fallen leaving the sky inky black, Weng Lie sat on his throne almost lost in thought when a guard approached him.

"Greetings emperor, you asked for me."

Weng Lie averted his gaze at him.

"I did, the reason why I called you is for you to inform the guards Incharge of the dungeon and maidens who work in the kitchen that from now on, the prisoners must be served food daily, do I make myself clear?"

The guard was stunned, that was unlike weng Lie to make such a decision but because he got scared for his life, he only bowed.

"Yes emperor."

"You may leave."

...

Mei jingjing paced around the room impatiently Wondering what Weng Lie might do to her and the prisoners cause she refused his offer. The door suddenly opened making her heart jump but she relaxed a bit when Daiyu walked in.

"Daiyu, it's you." Mei jingjing closed the door behind her, Daiyu gazed at her with folded arms.

"What spell did you cast on this two brothers?" she asked curiously.

Mei jingjing don't understand what she meant by that.

"What do you mean?"

"Weng Lie has decided to feed the prisoners daily." Daiyu said almost sounding surprised herself. Mei jingjing couldn't believe it.

"S..... say that again."

Daiyu looked away. "You heard me the first time, the prisoners won't go hungry any longer."

A smile formed on Mei jingjing's lips, finally those innocent people won't have to go hungry any longer, Daiyu stared at Mei jingjing as she smiled to herself and couldn't help but envy her, she wished she had such a big heart like Mei jingjing, maybe then master Li Jie would have loved her and not Mei jingjing.

"How do you do it Mei jingjing?" Daiyu asked jolting the smiling Mei jingjing back to her senses.

"Huh?"

"How come you're so nice?, you're doing so much for your friends and those prisoners."

Mei jingjing walked up to her window.

"I'm not only doing it for myself Daiyu, I'm also doing it for my husband cause I'm sure he'd do the same if he was in my shoes. Once he returns, we'll finally get our kingdom back and restore Lijiang to what it was before the whole thing started." tears filled her eyes but her smile never faded from her lips.

"What was Lijiang actually like before?" she asked.

"Lijiang kingdom was the most peaceful place to be, everyone looked happy, we never faced any problems, I just want all of that to come back again. Where everyone can live in peace and stay happy."

Daiyu smiled, it will since master Li Jie is back.

If you're wondering how she knew about it, then let's go back to the year when the whole disaster happened.

...

A Year Before:

Li Jie remained dead at the bottom of the ocean, Daiyu sneaked her way out of the kingdom and hurried to the ocean while she was taken into the air, her legs didn't touch the earth as she remained on the air, she got to the middle of the ocean and her red eyes lit up, she scanned the water with it and tracked Li Jie's body, after a lot of scanning, she found his body and brought him out of the water using her powers, staring at his lifeless body made her heart ache but she focused her powers on Li Jie and took his body to the end of the ocean which was in bixia, she knew leader Chang would be able to take care of master Li Jie if he found him, she gently dropped his body on the soft sand and crouched beside him.

She couldn't stop the tears that flowed from her eyes, she blamed herself for not being able to save him but hoped leader Chang will.

She knew he was going to be safe here which was why she brought him here, she kissed his lips softly before getting to her feet and left the place before Weng Lie starts looking for her.

She arrived at the kingdom where Mei jingjing was locked up in a room, she banged hard on the door.

"Let me go you demon!!, get me out of here." she cried her eyes out, Li Jie needs her right now but she can't even escape the clutches of this wicked being.

Daiyu felt sorry for her but couldn't do a thing to help her.

Weng Lie had only rage in his eyes, he assembled his soldiers to get into the ocean and search for Li Jie.

"Make sure you check every corner for his body!"

Daiyu gasped, thank goodness she got Li Jie's body out of there, who knows what Weng Lie has planned.

She's knows little about this type of birthmark Mei jingjing had, if Li Jie somehow survives, Mei jingjing's birthmark will change into something different, she's seen it in a book but has no idea how true it is.

.....

Mei jingjing tapped her shoulder bringing her out from her thoughts.

"Hello, did you even listen to what I said?" Mei jingjing asked.

"S.... sorry, you were saying?"

"I want you to teach me how to use the sword." she said firmly

Daiyu smirked. "Why would you want to learn that?"

Mei jingjing turned away from her. "I'm planning on escaping from here, but before that, I want you to teach me what you know about sword fighting."

"Why me?"

"You're really great when it comes to things like that, I need you to teach me."

"We're not even friends."

"Neither are we enemies."

"Isn't that what we should be since we're both inlove with the same person?"

"It's not like we haven't tried to hate each other."

Daiyu nodded in agreement, she's tried so hard to hate Mei jingjing but she couldn't and didn't understand why?

"Fine, I'll teach you but don't expect me to go easy on you."

Mei jingjing smiled. "That's what I was hoping for."

Daiyu tried not to smile back but failed at it.

....

Li Jie laid on his bed with leader Chang attending to his wounds as he carefully unwrapped the bandage.

"What's this lightning element you speak of?" Li Jie asked while leader Chang applied s few herbs on his wound making it sting Li Jie.

"The moment you consumed the lightning, it's powers became yours, you need to learn to control that as well cause if you let it take control over you, it could be life threatening for the people around you."

Li Jie gazed at leader Chang. "Do I still have the powers of the seal, I destroyed it while using it as a shield against the lightning."

Leader Chang Chuckled. "Don't ask me, I'm not the one with special powers."

Li Jie wanted to test it out but leader Chang stopped him.

"Not in my house, you're still weak, your powers might be hard to control at this moment, besides you've broken enough stuff's in my house already."

Li Jie glanced at the broken mirror on the floor and cleared his throat avoiding leader Chang's gaze.

Chyou fen walked in with a smile. "We're out of food supplies leader Chang."

leader Chang gazed at her. "You only used that as an opportunity to step in didn't you?" he asked, she knew leader Chang was saying the truth but she wasn't lieing either.

"We're really out of food supplies."

Leader Chang got to his feet with a sigh. "Fine, I'll go get them."

"Let me come with." Li Jie said.

"No, you need rest."

"I'm alright, I'm tired of being locked in here, I want to step out even if it's just for a little while."

"No and my words are final." he hit his staff on the floor and walked out leaving Li Jie and Chyou fen in the room, Chyou fen glanced at Li Jie.

"That's leader Chang for you, once his staff touches the floor, his words are final."

Li Jie could remember as well, but at least he had his wife with him.

Chyou fen walked up to him. "Leader Chang says you shouldn't step out but he didn't say you shouldn't step out from the room now did he?"

She said and he got the hint, he smiled and slowly got to his feet, he might not be able to step out of leader Chang's home but that doesn't mean he can't take a look around it, it's actually been a while, he stepped out of the room and walked along the hallway with Chyou fen following his trail.

He got to the dojo, Chyou fen smiled. "This is where leader Chang does his meditating and sometimes trains us here."

Li Jie could remember his training, it didn't really go so well making him chuckle silently at the remembrance.

Chyou fen took him to the training ground. "This is where we mostly practice."

Zhang Wei was practicing his martial arts leaving Li Jie quite amused, he seemed talented.

Li Jie could also remember his training session, Mei jingjing always complained about the way he practiced like she was his teacher, how many times they've fought in the training ground and make up immediately after the argument. His heart yawned to be with her again.

She showed Li Jie her room which had two beds.

"One is for Zhang Wei and the other is for me." she said pointing at her bed, it looked like the room Li Jie and his wife shared together, Li Jie could remember all the arguments, intimacy, the times they shared together.

They got to the plum tree, which was already drying up due to the cold weather, it reminded Li Jie of his two crazy guards, Chao Xua, always filled with one mischief or the other, then Haorang, who takes his work seriously and ignores Chao Xua most of the times, he really hoped they were still alive and even if they were, Weng Lie must be torturing both of them, he wished he could go back to Lijiang but he couldn't, not now at least which means he's going to keep on longing for the one's he cared for.

Chyou fen noticed the sad look on his face. "Guardian angel, are you alright?, you look down." she said sounding concerned, Li Jie tried to hide his pain and smiled at her.

"It's nothing."

"Is it?, or is it that you miss your wife?" she asked curiously, Li Jie could remember that sweet moment they shared under the plum tree, her smiley face, and that lovely pout she always does, and most of all, that one night they shared together at Jiangnan, where they talked about their dreams, how he wished he could make those dreams a reality but how can he when he already see's himself as a failure, how long is he going to keep longing to see his wife again.

.....

Mei jingjing played her flute while sitting close to her window as she stared out into the moon, a thin layer of clouds masked the full moon filling her room with blue lights, she closed her eyes and was lost in her music, her own little world, hoping to reunite with the one person her heart still yawns for.

....

Li Jie suddenly glanced at Chyou fen. "Do you Know how to play the flute?"

She nodded with a smile. "Your princess taught me how to play before she left, she told me I was good at playing."

Li Jie smiled and gazed out into the full moon. "Great, you're going to teach me how to play the flute."
