Chapter 7

Four weeks later

   The Greene family with the exception of Raphael sat down around their huge dining table and chatted.

   Thankfully, Fabian had fully warmed up to the idea of having a brother and four sisters so the activities in the house went very smooth. 

   After the dinner, 18 year old April went over to her mom. "Mom, do you think dad's coming back", she asked worriedly.

Clarissa sighed, "I can't lie to you darling, I'm not sure he's coming back", she said.

  April sighed sadly. "I hope Chad can handle it", she said. 

    The next day

   The family was gathered round the table for lunch when suddenly, the doorbell rang. "Who is it? ", Clarissa called out and started to walk to the door. "Mrs Greene, may I have your attention please", the person asked. 

    She opened the door and the President of their country stepped in. "I have bad news, may I come in? ", he said. 

    Clarissa rolled her eyes and said ,"You're already in sir...wait did you say bad news", she asked worriedly

"Yes, Professor Greene is dead, my sources say he died the minute he landed on earth", He said with not even a tinge of remorse. 

    "So if you may Mrs Greene, all his research and the guardian would be handed over to the government", he said and smiled. Clarissa kept her face expressionless. "With all due respect sir, please leave my house ", she said and ushered him out the door. 

     He didn't seem to happy about that. "Hand over the research and the boy, NOW", he said impatiently. "I'm Raphael's wife and Chad's mother, and considering the fact that I'm still very much around, Raphael's work and Chad's powers stay with me, GOODBYE! ", she said. 

      "Why you-", the President was interrupted by Chad smacking his head with a small piece of graphite. The president smiled. The little runt was already developing his powers huh...

      "You'll regret this Clary", he said as he stared down at her and left. 

     Clarissa sighed. The girls looked at one another and all hugged their mother at the same time. Fabian was totally unconcerned about all what just happened considering the fact that he barely even knew Raphael. 

     The girls playfully dragged Fabian away from the living room so their mother could take care of Chad. 

      Clarissa sighed. She was in big trouble now. "Hey baby, how do you feel? ", she asked gently. "I feel really really mad, how dare he say you'll regret keeping memories of dad with you... He's a meanie that needs to be taught a lesson or two", Chad said and cracked his knuckles. Clarissa recoiled in confusion, "Are, are you a little upset about your daddy? ", she asked knowing fully well what the answer was. 

        "A little, but I cried the time he was going, I can't waste my tears again now that he's dead", Chad said coldly for a 6 year old. This was exactly was Clarissa was scared of. This denial thing. Raphael also did it when he found out that the fate of their entire world resting in the hands of a 6-year old boy. 

       She gave him a week before he became resentful of everything and everyone. She carried him and petted him even though he tried to pry her away. Ten minutes later he was in dream world. Clarissa smiled and dropped him in him and Fabian's room. 

        She broke down in tears when she was alone in her room. 

     Chad then became extra serious with his training as he had a motive for cultivating his powers now. Revenge for his father's death. All those involved would get what was coming to them. 

     He learned that Saturn's crystal was the most important thing on Saturn. If even a small piece of another crystal touched it, it would explode. And if he, the guardian was around when that happened, he would die along with the planet but the attacker would be left safe and healthy.

     "Teacher?, why is the universe so darn complicated?", he asked. "I have no idea kid, just make sure you protect us", his cultivator said.
