He Was Right

So I was right, he thought.

Lucas sighed out loud and simply watched as Lillian downed her sixth glass of whiskey. Her cheeks were red and she was completely drunk. Slamming the glass on the table, she turned towards him.

"I...hic...have a very strong...hic...tolerance!" she claimed. Her words were slurring and she was swaying a little but was smiling like a fool. She giggled loudly and drank another glass.

"Aren't you done?" he asked. He had a very high tolerance for alcohol and was on his seventh glass but controlled his state. Getting drunk was not an option for him, especially when this reckless girl was around. Lucas put his glass away and watched the crazy woman. There was no way to stop her from drinking more.

"You…" she said with a wide smile. Putting her arm on his shoulder, she whispered into his ear, "You're...hic...drunk aren't….hic...you?"

"Yes," Lucas said in a deadpan tone. "Very drunk. "Now let's go back-"
