Chapter 40

“You know, as well as I do, that humans do not put much value on their dreams. You can’t fault her for doing what only seems natural to humans,” Theo defended her.

“Humans are an arrogant, selfish, closed-minded species whose only concern is what they can do to make themselves happy. They can’t see beyond their eyes into the depth that is a part of every single living thing in the world,” Elder Steval ranted.

Neivayka raised a hand to halt what she was sure was a very well-informed tirade. “I understand. I swear that I will keep my eyes open for anything weird from now on. If I have another dream, I assure you that I will come to you first.”

Elder Steval harrumphed and shook his comically large walking stick at her causing the decorations at the top to rattle.

“You had better, young lady. There is nothing more important than keeping you safe and if you and your ‘guardians’ ain’t gonna do it. Then we will!” Steval warned.
