Chapter 68

The long hallway opened into a marble dining room that was accented in gold. Multiple pillars were set in the walls, obviously placed there to hold up the immense dome ceiling that was covered with ornate cherubs and ivy from one end to the other.

Four busts were sitting in the four corners of the room. One was an intricately carved hippocampus, and the other was a phoenix. Neivayka looked to her left and right, and sure enough, there was a dragon and a wolf in those corners.

Each creature was the exact replica of the tabletop in the meeting hall that Steval had taken them to when they had come to Henge village.

The moment Neivayka stepped up to that table, the carving of the sweet little hippocampus had come to life. His long eel-like tail had flipped around excitedly, and his beautiful horse upper half preened with pride when she had complimented him.
