He nodded at me and grabbed Benny’s hand his obedience for me rather than her enraged her even further sending her two steps closer to the edge. 


She snapped her fingers at him as if he was a dog. “Get over here. I told you she’s not your mommy I am, and you will not listen to her anymore.”


 I took a step closer to her hoping to draw her attention back to me. But she was lost in the picture of herself that she was trying to paint for all to see.


 “These boys,” she chuckled breathlessly. “They just don’t listen to their mommy. Ever since you left, I’ve been trying to tell them I was their real mommy, but they didn’t listen. Guess, I’m just gonna have to punish them and make sure they know. Then get rid of Benny and Erin, of course. They both have been in my way when I try to discipline the boys.”


 She gave Benjamin a cruel smile and tsked a few times. “Can’t have that now, can we?”
