Chapter 75

We rifle through Adi's kitchen. Luckily, the housekeeper stocks the refrigerator and the pantry pretty well. After gathering eggs, milk, butter, cream, bacon, fresh baby bella mushrooms, red onions, cherry tomatoes, and cheddar and Havarti cheese, I decide to make omelets for us.

The girls busy themselves, helping me prep. Dawn and Kelsey are carefully avoiding Adi as much as possible.

Adi gives up on trying to help with them elbowing her out of the way and sets to the task of making mimosas. Then, she sets the table off to the side of the kitchen.

Tony smells the aroma and joins us.

I feel incredibly guilty for dragging them into my mess. Here we were, in New York, to celebrate Dawn's engagement, and my crisis overrides her excitement at having her perfect gown designed.
