Beginning

There were 12 royal ranks in the nation, we were on top, the Quintus, meaning we were the most powerful and most influential. The second one was the Azura family, the one's behind us. They were strong, influential, and were also gifted with talents.

Standing in front of us were them, Allen Azura along with his son, Arthur Azura. With their identical black hair and brown eyes staring at us as we walked inside the shop.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the maid and the daughter of the Quintus born without magic. Truly a disappointment, bringing shame upon your family. This is why the Azura family should be ranked first, the Quintus family should be the lowest for making a child that was born without the ability to perform magic." said Allen.

These type of people were the scums I talked about, one's who would discriminate on you for something that didn't relate to them at all.

"Greetings Mister Azura." said Marie slightly bowing.

Because Marie wasn't anyone of high status, she had to be polite or else she would get in trouble.

"Look, even your maid has better manners than you." said Allen.

Now that did it.

"My father said to never bow down to someone lower than yourself." I said.

His expression turned grim, "What did you just say?"

There was now a sudden pressure in the air as the other people in the shop felt quite scared.

"We're still in a public area, I suggest you don't do anything rash." I said.

Allen started looking around, the people were staring at him feeling disturbed or even scared. He quickly calmed down making the pressure in the air disappear.

Before we both could say anything more to each other, Marie handed me the slice of cake I wanted. My attention was now turned to the cake I had in my hand. Taking a bite out of it, the chocolate taste filled my mouth along with the sweetness of the sprinkles that was placed onto the cake.

Marie quickly paid the cashier and said goodbye to the two Azura as we started heading back home. As I was eating my cake, there was a weird atmosphere between me and Marie. I was confused by it since we were always on good terms and I never did anything rash to her.

"Is something wrong Marie?" I asked.

Turning her head towards me, she had a worried expression on her face.

"Princess, you shouldn't treat other royalty like that." said Marie.

"Why is that?" I asked.

"Because royals have connections to other people, they might bring trouble to your parents." said Marie.

"Alright, I'll be careful." I said.

"Good, now let's go. Your siblings are waiting." said Marie.

When we were walking back home, I thought about what Marie said. All royals had connections to other people, I could decipher what she meant by that. The Azura family is the second highest ranking family, with their talents and influences, it wasn't surprising for them to have connections. Marie meant that with their connections, they might try to overthrow or start something to hurt our family's pride.

It might be dirty, but all the royals wanted to be on top and wanted the throne. After all, being on the throne meant you had power, you could have everything you wanted. But that wasn't the case at all, I could see the tiredness on my parent's faces after they would come back from their meetings.

With power comes with responsibilites.

Now that I think about it, didn't that mean my siblings and I were also candidates for the throne? No way am I going to be a candidate, it was too much work. Well...I'm only 6 years old so there wasn't much to think about now.

We made it back into the mansion and I instantly ran to the courtyard where I saw my siblings training. I didn't call out to them and let them do their thing, they were doing well against the trainers my parents hired for them.

I decided to head to the mini library we had and looked at books. There were all kinds of books here, luckily, all the books I wanted was on the bottom shelves so I was easily able to get them.

The books were about magic, mathematics, the kingdom, along with many other cities. However, there was an old dusty book that was at the end of the shelf. I took it out and placed it onto the table. It had no title, no author, just a lot of chapters. Opening the book, there were ripped pages along with faded words, flipping through it, most of the pages were gone and the words faded.

I connected all of the words together and it made the words, "Not everything you believe is everything." I was confused on what it meant, it sounded like a riddle. Putting all of the books back, it was already sunset meaning my parents would be back soon.

Walking out of the library, I decided to head towards my room for some rest, but I was interrupted by my two older siblings.

"Where were you?" asked Alex.

"Why didn't you greet us if you came back?" asked Alice.

Considering they were only 9 years old, they do question me more than my parents do. I guess this is what protective siblings are called.

"I was in the library reading books and I didn't greet you guys since you both looked so focused on your training and I didn't want to interrupt." I said.

"I guess that makes sense." said Alex.

Why was he talking like an adult?

"I'll forgive you but you have to take a bath and sleep with me." said Alice.

"Eh? It's fine but why?" I asked.

"You haven't talked to me the entire day that's why." said Alice.

"Oh, then we can do those two." I said.

"Great, let's go!" said Alice.

"Huh?"

Before I knew it, I was in the bathroom getting my hair washed by my old sibling. The feeling of being spoiled and pampered a lot did feel nice, however, my older sister seems to be turning into a tsundere type...but oh well...it's going to be fine...I hope. After we finished bathing, Alice easily dried our hair with her wind magic heated with some of her fire. I was tugged by the waist as I was pulled into Alice's arms. Soon enough, we easily fell asleep because of the comfortable warmth that embraced us.

When I woke up, Alice wasn't beside me which meant she was already awake. Checking the clock that was hung on the wall, it was already 12 meaning Alice had training.

Walking down the hallways, I was suddenly picked up.

"Mommmmmm. I'm not a baby anymore." I whined.

"To me, you'll always be a baby." said my mother.

"But I'm not one!" I whined again.

"I am your mother and you are my child, that means you're still a baby." said my mother.

It's always the same line she would pull to defeat my whining, I could only mentally sigh.

"Where's dad?" I asked.

"He's busy doing paperwork, he also has a meeting right after that." said my mother.

"Oh..." I muttered.

"Is there something you need from him?" asked my mother.

I wanted to ask him about the old book I found the other day but since my dad was still busy, I decided to switch the topic. However, I did want to know something.

"No, but I do want to see what type of magic you use." I said.

My mother smiled at the sight, "I was hoping you'd ask this question one day."

Eh? All my life, I thought my mother was hiding her magic because of something, but she was actually waiting for me to ask her. Just how far did my mother think ahead?

"Now, let's go to the back yard." said my mother

"Backyard? Isn't that where the gardens were?"

"Exactly."

I thought she was going to carry me towards the garden, I mean she did, but she carried me with her wind magic. I could tell the magic was used delicately along with perfect control. I was basically floating threw the hallways while being next to my mother.

When we were in the front yard, she gently let me down on the grass. The bright sun made my mother's blonde hair shine brightly.

"As you already know, people can use different types of magic." said my mother.

I nodded in reply and waited for her to go on.

"But everyone also has their main magic, the magic they used the most. Like fire, water, ice, wind, and earth. I can use all of those types of magic, however, my main magic is this."

With a wave of her hand, the flowers started blooming, a small tree started growing, and vines started coming out. That was when I realized what her magic was.

It was....

"...Plant Magic." I said in amazement.

"You got that right, although it may seem weak, it's best not to underestimate it." said my mother.

I agreed with my mother, with plant magic, you can do a lot of things. Like tying someone up with vines, growing poisonous plants to poison someone, as well as protecting yourself by growing plants around yourself.

"Amazing." I muttered.

"It seems my daughter has good taste." said my mother picking me back up, "One day, you're going to be able to use magic too."

"Really?" I asked with a hint of doubt.

"Of course, you're my daughter after all." said my mother smiling.

I had to squint because of the beaming light that came from my mother's smile. Once we got back into the house, my mother let me down with her wind magic.

"You have an hour until food is ready, until then, you can do anything you want." said my mother.

"Okay." I said.

My mother walked away as I was suddenly again picked up. Looking over to see who it was, I already knew what was going to happen.

"Alex, what're you picking me up for?" I asked.

"Help me defeat Alice!" said Alex.

"There's no way I could do that, I couldn't even use magic." I said.

"No, it's fine. We can definitely beat her." said Alex.

I look at the determination in his eyes and couldn't resist.

With a sigh, "Let's go then." Alex put me down as we made our way towards the courtyard where Alice was training.

"Alex? You're challenging me again with our little sister watching? Are you trying to embarrass yourself?" asked Alice with absolute confidence.

"Nope, we're going to defeat you together." said Alex.

"Eh? Is that true Ena?" asked Alice.

"Yep." I said.

"T-the be-betrayal..." muttered Alice.

"Hmm?" I asked.

"Nothing, let's get to it." said Alice.

I was surprised by the sudden change of her personality but we both got into a stance. I had a bit of training from my mother but I had no experience in fighting at all.

"3..2...1...START!" Alex and Alice announced.

I had absolutely no idea what to do right now...

Before I knew it, my vision went dark and the last thing I saw was fire and ice filling up my vision.
