CHAPTER THREE

Jade found her way through the busy crowds, chasing after Jonathan and keeping an eye on him from the distance.

She wiped off the sweat on her face as she ran after him, even though he was walking, it still seemed impossible for her to catch up with him.

"So you know I am after you, you can keep prolonging the distance all you want, I never give up easily" she muttered as she ran as fast as her legs could carry her.

She followed him into a less busy street and continued running after him, took a turn to the left and saw Jonathan standing in a lone street with his wings spread out fully.

"So it is really you" Jade said and pulled her gun from the strap on her right leg and pointed them at Jonathan.

"One human who isn't scared" Jonathan replied and pulled in his wings. "You only saw me because of two things, one your persistence and fighting spirit, two is even before listening to the tape, you've always longed to have a meeting, from the very first day I saved your life from that falling building" Jonathan said and turned his back around and walked on.

"So you knew about the tape?" Jade asked as she tucked her gun back into the strap.

"Is it strange, its mine and the truth is your journalist friends has been a bone on my throat, trying to figure out my existence, I only allow her know what I want her to know" Jonathan said and raised the tape up in the air. "I have my property back" he said and placed it into his pocket.

"Thank you" Jade said and bowed her head.

Jonathan halted and turned his head around to look at her and was surprised to see her bowing her head.

"What for?"

"For saving my life, for saving innocent citizens and for giving us hope" Jade said and sighed. "But I still have issues with you purposely breaking down buildings you could easily avoid" she added

"Ahhrrhgh that, just consider that a trade mark" he said and smiled at her "Do you care for tea?" he asked and stared at the speechless Jade.

"Yeah su..rrree..e I mean who wouldn't?" she replied and ran up to him.

A fat pot-bellied man, blew off the dust on the weird looking book he found at the entrance of the community local cathedral and flipped it open. The front cover of the book, was laced around the edges with a golden linen and right at the middle was a carved image of a triangle and right in the middle of the triangle was crossed swords.

He opened right to the middle and was surprised at the strange words that were written in them, studying the content further, he found they were written in form of musical lyrics.

"Is this some ancient music of sort?" he asked himself and clutched tighter to the book.

Looking around, he batted one last look at the church and turned around to head for his home.

Jonathan sat by the window of his living room a tea cup in his hands, while Jade was on the phone, immediately she hanged up, she stood up and let out a loud sigh.

"It's nice knowing you, but I have to run" she said and stood up.

Jonathan smiled back at her and walked closer to her, maintaining a distance of about an inch away from her.

"I hope I don't feel attached from here on" Jonathan said, his soothing breathes grazing her face.

"Tch, never going to happen, I have a date to catch, and since you approved my proposal, we are nothing more than partners, we are both gaining from one another" she said and closed the gap, this time her face standing merely two inches away beneath Jonathan who had overwhelmed her with his huge body frame.

She walked pass Jonathan and turned the knob of the door

"See you later" she said and finally went out.

"Tch, you purposely delayed her so, couldn't take it any longer" Dan said revealing himself standing next to the bar.

"My happiness does not matter to you?" Jonathan asked and sank himself into the chair.

"You have no happiness moving around with mortal humans" Dan replied and stood up "There is trouble you should probably handle right away" Dan added as he walked closer to Jonathan.

"What?" Jonathan asked and spread out his wings.

"Lucifer's rhyme, it has been read by two humans already, seems words has gone out about it, and gangs and others have been hitting themselves hard to lay hands on it, supposedly some of them knows how to conjure the real lyrics" Dan said starring at Jonathan.

"If you really know where this book is, why don't you just go and grab it and shoot out of here?" Jonathan asked "Seems I will never get the logic of you angels" he added.

Dan scoffed and lowered his head

"The truth is, most things that belong to the underworld, angels cant touch or else we risk the being corrupt and we will no longer have a place in the silver city" Dan said and sniffed.

"A secret you purposely kept from me all these years, I am just one puppet to you and your father" Jonathan said and stood up.

The aura in the room suddenly spiked up, the aura of anger and hatred, oozing out from Jonathan. Dan gasped for breathe as sweat dripped down his face.

"You're fortunately I don't have the permission to kill angels, you should have been dead a long time ago" Jonathan said and spread out his wings, which pulled down the ceiling fan and a reasonable portion of the wall.

"Tsk" Dan muttered gritting his teeth.

"Where is the current location of the book?"

"We don't know, but I'm sure you are feeling a new strange power roaming distance away, if this power continues to spread, or if it finally have a master or someone who can conjure the lyrics, then its bad news" Dan said

"You yourself is bad news" Jonathan added disappeared.

Dan sighed in relief as the aura in the room dispersed immediately Jonathan disappeared.
