After school hours, the main entrance.
ELVIS: Yeah, we lost. Down by seven points.
ERIC: Y'all did your best. Some days you win, some days you lose.
ELVIS: Tell that to our coach. He literally called us a disappointment.
ERIC: I'm sure he didn't mean that. He's just frustrated. Y'all didn't make it to the finals, that's not something to be happy about.
ELVIS: Right. But he was so mean, I don't think I've ever seen him this angry. The worst part is that I couldn't even play. I watched from the sidelines as my team lost.
ERIC: You were benched?
ELVIS: Yeah. I won't deny, my performance has been a little off lately, coach did the right thing. Hey... is it just me or have you been noticing people staring at us?
ERIC: Thought I was the only one.
ELVIS: What do you think is going on? (Taking note of everybody's expression)
ERIC: I've no idea. Look, those girls over there are also staring at us and it seems they talking about us. Let's go find out what's happening. (Walking towards the girls)
"Stay away from us, jerks!"
ELVIS: What? (He shares a look with Eric) What did we do?
"What did you do? You two almost killed the poor girl and you have the nerves to ask what you did?"
ERIC: What are you talking about?
The girls show them a video on their phones. A video posted on the school's freshman blog. It is a video clip of everything that happened at Rotman Valley, Monday afternoon.
"Still wanna deny? And you..." Pointing to Elvis. "You're the asshole who hit her with the stick. Why the hell would you do that to a girl?"
ELVIS: I didn't deliberately...
"Save your speech for the rest of the school because this video has gone viral" The girls walk out on them.
ERIC: Who the hell recorded this?
ELVIS: There's only one person coming to mind.
"Gustavo!" They chorus.
ELVIS: You were thinking the same thing, huh? We've got to find Gus, he needs to explain all this madness.
ERIC: Where could he be now?
MARCELLO: Look no further. (Walking to them, dragging Gustavo by the collar of his shirt)
ERIC: Marcello? Where did you find him?
MARCELLO: That's not important. See this dude right here? He's the one behind all your problems. Immediately we got to school this afternoon, I went straight to the cafeteria and made my findings...
GUSTAVO: That's a lie. He's ly...
MARCELLO: Shut your mouth or I'll send you straight to coma. (He glares at Gustavo then turns to Elvis) The way you've been acting, the sudden weakness, fainting and that shit, I suspected it wasn't normal, and my suspicions were correct. You were drugged.
ELVIS: Drugged? By who?
MARCELLO: Is being dumb your hobby? I'll leave this jerk with you two. I got more important shit to deal with. (He swaggers off)
ERIC: Gus... I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. Now explain yourself. (He gives a stern look while Elvis tightens his fist)
GUSTAVO: Alright, fine. You want an explanation, yeah? This all started when you decided to go after the girl I like...
ELVIS: There we go again. Diana was right. Same stupid fights over a girl. I'm getting sick of this.
ERIC: Let him finish. I went after the girl you like and then?
GUSTAVO: I made Elvis fall for her then I manipulated you two so you'd end up fighting, putting Gwen in the crossfire so she'll realize what monsters you both are, and then she'll stay away from you guys, while I'd be there waiting to comfort her. Genius, right?
ERIC: I wouldn't call it that. But that was one hell of a scheme. What makes you think she would have been yours?
GUSTAVO: I had it all planned out.
ERIC: I hope you also have a plan to fix this mess.
GUSTAVO: Hey! You asked for the truth and I gave you the truth. Now can you two let me be? I'm done here.
ELVIS: Nahh, you're only done when I say so!
He swings a punch at Gustavo but he misses as Gustavo ducks and makes his way behind Elvis, grabbing him by the throat. Elvis elbows him hard, making him fall to the ground but in seconds, he's back on his feet, lunging at Elvis. He does some deceptive moves, making way for his fist to hit Elvis on the ribs.
ERIC: You got reflexes, huh? Let's see if you can handle two. (He grabs Gustavo from behind and grips him firmly, giving Elvis the opportunity to throw series of punches)
02:58pm.
"Y'all know the drill... don't try to set anything on fire, stay here quietly and I'll be back in two hours to relieve you of your punishment. Y'all are entitled to two minutes bathroom break each, just hit the buzzer by the wall over there and I'll open the door. Don't even think of having any funny ideas of escaping because it would only make things worse for you. Normally, I'm supposed to be in here with y'all but I can't stand stupid kids so I'll just be outside... and I'll be in possession of your stuff till y'all are done here. Enjoy". A representative of the school disciplinary committee address them, locking them in an old empty classroom.
GUSTAVO: Man, it's gonna be a couple of boring hours.
ELVIS: This is all your fault!
GUSTAVO: Says the person who started the fight.
ELVIS: Fuck you. I'd have had no reason to fight you if you weren't a jerk. Now we've been served detention.
GUSTAVO: So let's enjoy it quietly.
ERIC: Say something stupid again and we're gonna have a problem.
GUSTAVO: Okay! I'm... I'm sorry. I know I messed up. I was jealous. What I did was stupid, I know.
ELVIS: I'm glad you admit that you're stupid. You're gonna suffer for this.
GUSTAVO: I said I'm sorry...
ELVIS: Gwen probably hates us right now and you're sorry? After ruining our image in school, all you can say is 'I'm sorry'?! Huh?!!!
The disciplinary rep unlocks the door, opens it and peeps in. "If anyone among you raises their voice again, I'm adding half an hour to your time. Understood?" He asks and the three boys nod. "Good. See you little devils at 4pm". He locks the door again.
GUSTAVO: So what do you suggest I do, man?
ELVIS: Go tell everyone that it was you who planned this all.
GUSTAVO: I can't do that.
ELVIS: AND WHY CAN'T... (he pauses, glancing at the door, scared the the disciplinary rep might come in again. He continues with a low tone) ...why can't you do that?
GUSTAVO: Don't you realize that there's a chance I could get suspended?
ELVIS: And what do you think would happen to my brother and I if that video gets to the principal?
GUSTAVO: Oh, man. I dunno... I'll... I'll figure something out.
ELVIS: There's nothing to figure out here. Own up to what you did.
GUSTAVO: Relax, man. Don't worry, no one here is getting suspended.
ERIC: Now that's more like it. I've actually been waiting to hear something reasonable from you. Now delete the video the moment we get out of here.
GUSTAVO: I will, promise.
ELVIS: How's that gonna solve anything? Can't students download videos from the school blog?
ERIC: It wasn't posted on the main school blog. I observed the screen and interface when those girls showed us the video on their phone. It's the other blog created by some student whose identity is anonymous.
ELVIS: Okay...?
GUSTAVO: Hey! I posted the video with restrictions. Something that has to do with multi DRM and stuff like that. It can't be shared, downloaded, screenshotted or screen recorded.
ERIC: Perfect. Problem solved.
ELVIS: How?
ERIC: No one else can get the video. They can only have access to it as long as it's still posted. And in less than two hours the video will be taken down... right? (Glancing at Gustavo)
GUSTAVO: Yeah! It will.
ERIC: Good.
GUSTAVO: So... we're cool right? (He glances at the twins)
ELVIS: Not completely. I'll ask Marcello to make a video with you explaining to everyone how you planned all this.
GUSTAVO: But guys...
ELVIS: I wasn't done... your face would be blurred.
GUSTAVO: Oh, nice.
ELVIS: But in the video, you'd take a little punch from Marcello.
GUSTAVO: What do you mean 'little punch'? Marcello's fists are huge!
ERIC: Enjoy the ironical pain.
GUSTAVO: Why do I have to take a punch?
ELVIS: You're the jerk who stirred this all up so you gotta be treated like a jerk in the video. You should be be glad no one's gonna see your face.
GUSTAVO: But come on... I know you both just getting back at me for what I did. Two wrongs don't make a right.
ERIC: Who said we wanted to make it right?
