cut them all off

Her hair was twisted in uneven curls, the type you get from soaking in hot water for long. It still looked wet so his assumptions were right. He couldn't see her whole outfit but the casual shirt she had on still gave a Noble vibe.

She really aided the phrase that said nobility resides in the bone. Her brows had a curious arch to them and she seemed to be looking at him. Not necessarily at him though but in his direction. He also found her train of sight and when he finally saw what she was staring at, an amused smile appeared on his lips.

The Barbecued steak?

Gisele had unknowingly left admiring the handsome young general to admiring the evenly cut red lustrous pieces of steak on the barbecue. Maybe because she had not had her breakfast yet, she was starting to wonder what they would taste like, almost salivating, she wished she could run over and stuff her belly with the delicious foods.

Tsk, how unfortunate that she was still locked in at the moment. Jumping out the window was not an option. There was now a roll of roses directly under her windows and if she tried that stunt again, she would be directly Landing into their thorny stalks. Besides what excuse what she supposed to give to her Aunty's if she suddenly appeared out of the blue?

After giving the steak a few more regretful glances she looked up to meet the pair of black eyes staring at her silently. She was shocked and suddenly became filled with embarrassment. The young man had watched her stare at his food with such hungry eyes. Her image must surely had crumbled in his eyes. Ahh! How embarrassing!

Gisele scratched her head and gave and awkward smile, before also waving her hands. The young general did not wave back but his friend did with a smile, helping to ease Gisele's embarrassment.

"Xiao G I've got to go. Make sure you bring some souvenirs for Aunty okay?" Claudia who had not noticed the little exchange between the three youths because of a little distraction, hurriedly said before moving to cut the call.

Gisele sighed and rubbed her stomach. Seeing the steak, made her crave for a roadside barbecue, she used to have while she was at the Andres house. She remembers branching there every winter to buy hot beef barbecued seasons with spicy mix. The smell of roast always had a way of mixing with the cold winter air and also leaving some sort of vague feeling.

Speaking of Andres family.

It was a surprise they had not tried to contact her after the last time. She had expected to keep on being pestered by them for a long time but they had all just gone completely silent. It did not seem like them, infact it made her kind of suspicious. Where they perhaps planning something?

As she pondered on the matter, a knock resounded on her door, before it was pushed open.

"Aunty Lou!" Gisele called out surprised and happy. She had not seen the lady since the last week, it was such a relief to see her again.

"Where have you been? I was worried I had caused problems for you?" She didn't want to worry about it too much but a part of her feared that Aunty Lou had been absent the whole week because she was being punished by Devon. She was only waiting till her ban was totally lifted to go finding the lady herself.

Aunty Lou was touched by the Miss's worrying. The relief in her eyes showed that the young lady must-have being really worried about her. "it's not like that. My daughter suddenly came to visit, I had to take a leave to spend time with her. Sorry I couldn't tell you"

"That's a relief. What of your daughter? Is she gone now?"

"sigh, that brat was relocating back to Country M without even informing me. She's back to her whimsical way of life" Gisele chuckled to this and didn't say anything else.

She sat the woman down and began telling her on her success of passing the audition round.

...

The Sky over axilla city adorned a dull look. The sun was neither shining not shining. The evening sky especially looked like it had lost all attempts to appear dazzling and beautiful. Thick ask clouds hung on every corner of the sky, covering the earth in a thin layer of dry mist. Sure enough snow was bound to fall very soon. One could see the cold air already forming mists and fog like smoke. Winter has just began so days like this were bound to repeat in numbers.

Amidst the dewy sky, a black Rolls Royce made its way through the road. It blended perfectly with the afternoon buzzing traffic, making U turns and swerving past cars in a speed that showed it's driver's haste. Dust rose and smoke left a line as it zoomed off.

In the driver's seat, Devon held unto the staring with tightened hands. He did not have a frown on his face but he was not smiling. The temperature in the car was rigid, as rigid as the sky was. Seemingly lost in thought, her only came back when his phone began ringing.

He stabilized the steering wheel with one hand while the other moved to pick the phone. He accept the call and moved on to adjust the earplugs on his ear.

"Mmhmm?" He hummed silent.

The call continued silently and unexpectedly his expression turned frosty. The idle hand moved to pinched the space between his brows.

"Do I need to repeat myself?"

???

"Then cut them all off!" He roared already angered to the max. If whosoever he was talking to was in front of him, the person would probably be frightened till they had a heart attack.

The person responded with words of their own and a slightly amused look flashed through Devon's face, then later changed into a devilish look. He looked up at the road intersection signs then looked back down at his phone.

"She had the guts_ How did you let it get to this? Do I have to teach you your job?" He was no longer roaring but his tone was even more frightening than when he shouted on the top of his lungs. It was Frosty and carried a hint of hidden danger, when it sounded, it was like he was whispering it into your ear while placing a sharp edged dagger on your neck. The Killing intent was real for your ears to pick.

"Send me the location, I'll be there personally"

Screech!

A mad drift was done just at the next U turn and the car turned back into the direction it had come from. The speed it drove in now was twice the former. Going back was not a change of plans but just a diversion. One he was determined to solve in the littlest amount of time. His initial plans of seeing his girl was not cancelled but just postponed.

He sped through the road, ignoring the speed limit and traffic light. Would there even be any traffic warder who would dare chase after the Rolls Royce with specified plate number. That plate number should already be hanging on the wall of the Traffic Security office with an account close to it. They would just fine the account directly and wouldn't have to disturb him.

...

The black car stood in front of a High end club and the scissors door open for the man's slim figure to step out. His office custom made black suit stood out obviously in such a place but he didn't seem to care about this fact, what he cared about was the location itself. He wore a deep frown on his face like an accessory. The loud music booming out of the place was enough to give him headache. The blinding party lights too were so not to his liking. This was his first time here he had never visited a club before. Maybe because of his tight schedule or just because the mere sight of this place irked him out.

With a frozen face, he made his way into the place.

"Hey handsome, do you need some company?"

"handsome do you want to dance?"

"Handsome you want a drink?"

Girls of all sort were drawn to him as he passed but with a Stern glare from him they could only withdraw their hungry hands. The distorting green, blue, red and purple light hindered people faces so they could only see he was a handsome man and could not recognize who he was, If only they had known who he was in the first place, they would never have dared to hit on him at all.

After walking through the bustling crowd, he finally arrived at the private room he was expected to be, without knocking, he pushed the door and walked in.
