Leave the industry?!

Inside the room, A beautiful lady sat with an elegant pose. Her legs crossed together, making the slit in her red gown shift, revealing a pair of fair long legs. Under the confusing light, her skin looked even more lustrous than it actually was

The pleasant smell of lotus and lavender filled the room and her pleasant smile was brighter than the light bulbs.

"CEO Devon, what a pleasant surprise" She called it a surprise but did not look surprised in the slightest. After all she had been especially waiting for his arrival. Even still, it Shou be considered a surprise that he honoured the invitation.

"Miss Kendall Whitney, drop the pretense, I heard you specifically ordered me here." Devon directly trashed her act to the ground, a smile was also hanging on his lips but his looked devilish and had no ounce of enchantment.

The lady's face stiffened but then she shrugged off his provocation and flashed back her deduct smile. "What can a lady do to get the man that she adores to meet her for a few minutes? You wouldn't blame me would you?"

Devon scoffed and treated her words as a pile of shit. He picked the bottle of wine on the table and poured a glass for himself. His movement very leisure but still Kendall's eyes could not be peeled off his body. The admiration she showered him with her gaze was like that if a delusional fan girl. A satisfied smile dancing in her eyes. She had long wished to be sitting so closely with him, how could she not be satisfied when her wish was finally coming to pass.

"Didn't you want to see me? I'm here now so let's get the debate over with" He said then took a sip from his wine.

"My contract with the company is almost over and I have been seemed out to renew it_"

Devon cut in hastily "I'm aware of that fact. Are you not satisfied with the term? You should know that Milestone entertainment has the highest benefits ever. So what is it that you want?"

Kendall nodded "indeed, Milestone's management and benefits are what has gotten me to the level I am now but... I still am unsatisfied. You're a stringent man Mr Devon, so you should know what it feel like in only attaining what you can get and missing on what you might have gotten." She twirled the glass of wine in her hand then added "The terms aside, I want something else... I want you"

The room fell into a silence.

Devon was not surprised by her request. The smirk on his lips had not left from start to finish. He looked at her askew and turned his gaze back to the flashing lights on the wall. The silence resumed and it looked like he had no intentions of saying anything.

After a pretty long time, he gave a hollow laugh and leaned into the soft couch, his long legs crossed each other, making him looked to be in a very relaxed state. With his relaxation, the tension that was building up in the room and in Miss Kendall's heart, dispersed with no room for argument.

He was not agitated by her words?

Surprise flitted in her eyes then confidence grew even more. Kendall flipped her hair in an arrogant manner and brightened the provocative smile on her lips.

"You got that right, I truly am a Stringent man." He started to say "I have heard your terms and basically I have no problems with that. It's just_ i have my conditions too"

Doubt arose in her heart and she gave him a suspicious look. Surely she knew this man was the type shrouded in a layer of mystery, he could not be understand from just a few words, so she had no idea what his eye intentions were.

Still she bit the bullet and decided to ask "What are you conditions?"

"Four Dates and a period of three quarters"

"???" She looked at him confused, her gazed indirectly asking him to go on.

"I want both of us to go on four Dates within a period of Six Months. The ultimatum should estimatedly come to an end a week before the Oscar award after the new year. If by then you succeed in creating a lasting positive impression on me, I would announce at the award to the whole world that I would be openly pursuing a relationship with you but off by then you can't get me to like you, then you lose the wager and would not ask for such terms again unless, I give you the chance"

His words were as sweet as a well decorated icing on a well flavoured cake. Both enticing and tempting but trickish at the same time. If she but into it, she might find out she was biting into mud carved like a cake. In another hand, it might also turn out to be the most delicious cake she has eaten in her entire life.

Devon sensed her hesitation. He sneered in his mind but outwardly hurried to persuade her. "What? Aren't you confident of your abilities?"

"To tell the truth Miss Kendall, I already find you amusing and that's why I could even think of giving you this chance. You look like an endearing lady and such ladies are just my type."

With his additional words, Kendall was forced to take the bait. "Fine Mr Devon, I agree to your deal but how am I sure you wouldn't go back on your words?" She rose a brow and asked him skeptically.

Devon showed an insulted expression and looked offended "if the name Devon Montero doesn't already testify for itself then perhaps we should sign a contract"

Kendall Whitney thought of his suggestion then went ahead and denied it. Devon Montero was really not the type and has never been recorded to go back on any bet or deal. Plus signing a contract would make their deal seem more professional than romantic do she did not want. She was confident she would get him to fall in love with her within these six months. She could already see herself being the envy of the ladies in Country M as he publicly announces he was going to date her.

"It's settled then, would you sign the contract renewal now?" Devon brought out the file he was given outside the door just before he walked in. He slid the documents over to her on the table alongside a fountain pen engraved with his initials.

Kendall took a long look at the own and a gleeful smile spread across her chin. She picked it up and signed the document without even going through what was written in it. Her act of trusting the Demon Devon Montero was one she would look at in future and gnash her teeth till they broke and bleed in her mouth.

"Shall I keep this as a symbol of our deal?" She showed him the pen and requested to keep it.

Devon chuckled and agreed nonetheless. This made the lady even more excited, she seem to have mistaken his agreement as an act of indulging her willfulness. Who did not know that Devon Montero was overly possessive over his things, even his littlest properties such as cufflinks could not be given out to someone he had no close relation with. He must really have lowered his guard towards her. So she thought.

"Since there is nothing else Miss Kendall, I should take my leave, I postponed an important meeting to be here, I hope you don't mind me leaving now?" He picked the signed contract and stood in his seat.

"Sure. I should know better than keep you away from your work" She spoke like a considerate girlfriend. Her cheeks shining a light shade of pink.

Devon gave her a look of contempt but the girl missed it as she had been looking down at her shoes.

"Then I'll take my leave. As for the dates, I would personally choose the dates, as I'm quite busy due to the Fashion show coming up, we'll can only have our fist date much after the show. Also Miss Kendall... I must warn, our personal matters would in no way affect the companies image or activities. If you do this then our arrangements would be directly called off. I hope this is clear?" He asked in a stern voice.

Kendall frowned slightly but still she nodded and chose to overlook his sudden warning. He had just told her about his itinerary so how could she not be slightly overjoyed.

"I'll be careful"

'yes you will' Devon sneered inwardly and immediately turned and walked out.

As he walked out of the room, he was intercepted by an anxious looking Secretary Jim. Secretary Jim had eavesdropped on the conversation that took place in the room so he knew what his boss had offered to get the arrogant missy to sign the contract. He could not believe his boss had sold himself.

As he looked at Devon, he had an expression that said 'you are not really doing that right?'

The casual look on Devon's face disappeared without a trace once the door closed behind him. His face darkened and he looked so scary that Secretary Jim involuntarily took couple of steps away from him.

"In Six months, make Kendall leave the industry. Leave no stains on the company" he ordered and walked away in heavy strides.

The young man that heard him had his eyes wide open.

Leave the industry?!

He didn't say the company but the whole entertainment industry! Sigh! Kendall had really signed her death warrant. She had only herself to blame.
