After a wonderful breakfast we said goodbye to my parents and headed out. Life was really full of amazing surprises. It was in that very moment I realized that my life was complete. I had everything any young lady could ever want. Most of all my forever love. It's a love, one of a kind, one that brings out the best in you on your worst days, even on the best ones. Keron held my heart, he was my best friend and I knew in that no other could love me like him.
As we drove, heading towards the mountains my heart soared. Keron was holding my hand while the radio played our favorite love songs in the background. Nothing could compare to the pride and love I have for this amazing guy. The scenery took my breath away. It was nature at its best. I looked out the window to take it all in.
It was nearly lunchtime as we approached the small town at the foot of Ancient City Mountains. What a gorgeous town. We stopped in front of the only restaurant to get some lunch. Getting out of the vehicle was so refreshing and delightful. The breeze blew across my face and made me laugh as I held on to my dress. It was all magical like a fairy tale, but this was how my life was in that moment.
As I entered the building I gasped. My eyes filled up with tears as I took in the sight in front of me. Everywhere I looked was filled with lilies and roses and candles. The fragrant scent was heavenly. Turning around my eyes found Keron's which shone with passion and love for me. Moving closer to him I hugged him tightly, raising my head to look at him. His lips found mine.
They felt so good, time stood still as he wrapped me in his arms and kissed me longingly. His mouth moved down to the nape of my neck. I heard a little groan escape his lips. The passion burned deeply and I could feel his desire arouse for me. Reluctantly, he began letting me go but not before whispering, I love you. I felt myself tremble as I tried to get a grip of myself. His kiss lingered on my lips. I could still taste him. We were ushered to our table.
We were the only ones there besides the persons who would be serving us. Even the table was looking romantic. This guy really knew how to treat a lady. He really went all out to make my day extremely beautiful.
Our food was served and I enjoyed every mouthful. As we ate the conversation was light and full of entertainment. Everything was so perfect. It was there in that moment reality set in. The waiter brought our dessert, it looked scrumptious. I took a spoonful of ice cream first. Closing my eyes I enjoyed the passionfruit tropical flavors.
Propping my chin onto my hands I looked over to Keron and said, "Thank you my love for such an amazing lunch, I can't imagine spending my day any other way." Leaning over he took my hand into his and said I will always do my best to make you the happiest woman in the world because you deserve it. You have made my life whole and complete and I can't imagine living without you Isabel. You brighten my darkest days and add color to my sun shiny ones.
As he said these words to me I looked down at the hands holding mine. My heart was breaking into two. Here I had the most amazing, genuine person who loved me like no other but yet I knew I had to break his heart in days to come because I knew I couldn't do it today. It was very selfish and deceptive of me but I loved him to much to tell him. I didn't want to think about my parents or what was to come so I pushed the thoughts out of my head and decided to enjoy the rest of my day and this moment.
I remember being told you only find true love once and when it finds you hold on to it and if you do let it go sometimes it never returns to you. Was love worth risking it all I questioned myself. The feeling that gripped me was so strong I felt like a jerk. I knew he would never forgive me for leaving him in the dark but maybe eventually he would understand why I had to do it and we will still stand the chance of being together.
This was exactly what I wanted, I knew it deep down inside. The one whom I am meant to be with and I won't let anything come in the way of that. I was determined to talk and convince my parents to let me keep my relationship inspite of what lies ahead but my dad already made it clear that I need someone of my status. Looking up at Keron I forced my voice to speak, the words were in my head but my lips failed to speak them.
"Are you ok?" he asked. I nodded my head. Making myself speak I slowly said, "I have something to tell you." "Sure, but let me go first after all its your special day and the surprises isn't over as yet," he said smiling at me with pure joy. My eyes shone brightly as I held back the tears, "Yes of course," I whispered. He let go of my hands and stood up. He walked around the table closer to me. My hands reached up to touch the necklace around my neck, it gave me some comfort.
The music got a bit louder, turning around I saw a live band which I somehow failed to notice earlier and it was our song being sung. My mind began swirling. I felt all my dreams coming through but crashing in that very moment. Closing my eyes to find some composure and not knowing what to expect. Slowly I opened them. There, before me was Keron down on one knee holding a gorgeous diamond engagement ring. I gasped not believing the sight before my very eyes. My only thought there and then was, "Can we last forever?"
