I am Deman

Aziel is an angel with a high rank among archangels. Presumably, The Heavenly God's first Angel?

Another name is the Knight of Golden Clouds. He had the most outstanding divinity after the archangels and is hailed as the Seraph of Justice. He might be the best when it came to delivering divine punishment. It was because he is at the vanguard of the angels. He had experienced the most wars and dealt out the most against evildoers, especially the mortals who always destroyed balance that the Heavenly God's hands were to reach.

He is a superb role model among the angels, yet the very same angel is now inhabiting a mortal vessel.

Love is truly like a poisoned chalice. If only Aziel knew what love at first sight is, he might have reconsider his actions and train of thought.

Are angels allowed to feel? No! But they do have feelings, everything is new to him. It is a potent combination of both curiosity and lust, the feeling he experiences after meeting someone he is attracted to. And it clicked with emotions stronger than infatuation.

It's a good thing he hasn't said 'I Love you' so soon, perhaps that is because he, himself doesn't know his feelings yet? Or that he just wants to know what love is?

Well, how could he? He is just a spirit. And thinking that way, it is not surprising why he chose to become Damon.

Upon the miracle and curse transpiring like a divine omen of which an angel possessed a mortal, the lesser spirits began to whisper among themselves...

"How the light turned dark... truly it is the end."

As the sacred light diminished, fading like fine specks of dust in the air, Aziel lost all authority regarding his identity as an Angel. He embraced his new tainted identity...

A Demon!

A demon is someone who succumbed to overpowering desires. They answer to none, they did things according to their whims. They are called vile for this nature because It is too obnoxious for anyone to accept that such a creature exists.

Some religious fanatics often mistook that the Evil God Auriol to be the God of demons, but that is untrue. They may share the same source of power, born from true desires yet they have no relationship together... at least not yet in this time...

(Arcadia, Church of the Heavenly God)

"How could this be?"

Below the altar where a ceremony is being held, a priest could not believe his eyes when the corpse he is about to bless and is supposed to be dead suddenly moved. The dead have risen!

It opens its eyes as it began scanning its surroundings.

"De... de... DE... MAN?!" stuttering, the people who brought Deman inside the church yell in unison.

Aziel who assumed the body of Deman did not respond, he is overwhelmed by all the new senses made available for him.

He touched his skin, it felt frail. He could say that this vessel can be easily torn or ripped apart.

'Then, how can a mortal cultivate to the point of challenging the celestials?'

In his mind, the silhouette of Balgra Kazta appeared once again. That overbearing aura, tremendous strength, and speed which rivaled the angels... he is also defeated by this very same frail hands.

...A mortal.

'I have become a mortal.'

His sense of smell degraded, he can not feel the vibration of energies surrounding the air. Though, he could still see the spirits lurking in the shadows.

They were laughing at him. He did not mind, he had expected them to react in this way. But as he shifted his gaze towards the priest, a shadow from out of nowhere emerges.

"Are you sure you should be here right now? Aren't you an Angel? What are you doing here?! You are supposed to protect the Heavenly God... Right?!"

Pale... pale like the white clouds.

A figure that resembles a mortal, wearing a dark cloak, and in his hand is a large scythe. He shouted at Aziel with words that stabbed the very same task, Aziel chose to abandon.

"No! this is—"

A retort unconsciously flew out of his mouth. Aziel wants to protest, but he could not.

There is no mistaking it...

A Grim Reaper. It is Xiev, the Grim Reaper interested in Larra.

'But what is a Grim Reaper doing here?'

Aziel got alerted by the new entity. But in the eyes of the mortals who are apprehensive in approaching the revived corpse, Deman is acting strange. He seemed to be seeing things they could not see.

'Did he became insane? Is that really Deman?'

The mortals including the priest look at each other. Their eyes seem to be speaking and thinking in the same direction.

And as if to remember something urgent, Aziel got out of his coffin.

Yet...

*Thud!*

—the sound of something heavy falling.

Aziel in Deman's body tumbled to the stairs leading to the altar. He had hit his knee against the protruding edge of the stairs.

"Ack! It hurts."

The level of pain he can feel has increased! His pain tolerance plummeted. But that is to be expected when you are a mortal.

Aziel realized this as he waved his hands to signal the mortals that he is fine.

No, he is not truly fine. He had forgotten that whenever someone interfered with the natural order of things, proper karma is dealt against that someone.

Yeah, he disturbed the natural flow of death. Deman is not supposed to die yet...

This Grim Reaper who came might have sensed it.

'But how come he is quick to notice? Are they following me since my arrival here?'

Questions began popping in his head. He did not really think about all of the repurcussions. He just went and proceeded with his desires. He let his desire guide him.

'No... I should not answer. Right now... I am Deman. I should act like him.'

Aziel renewed his resolve, he got up from the floor as he cursed how heavy Deman is. How much of a fat blob is Deman? It is difficult for Aziel to move.

He is not yet used to this body.

Ignoring the Grim Reaper, like a crazed lunatic, with an unanticipated cry... Aziel bellowed, kneeling below the altar of the Heavenly God.

"Oh God! You sent me here... I was revived! Thank You!"

Those words... He needed some form of distraction. From this point on, he just has to fake it until he makes it.

'There is no turning back now.'

"I am Deman."

Claiming it, a smirk curves his lips with his gaze glinting a reddish glow.
