Help From Grandfather

I finally reach my grandfather's house and park my car. I see grandfathers' usually parked cars but there is one that stood out to me because I have never seen it before. I just shook it out of my mind and headed towards the house.

I decided on a bright blue dress suit set. So both a light blue jacket and pants. I know, sort of too "powerful" but I like that. I walk in with my shades on my head like I usually do because it makes me look cool and also empowered before I have to walk into the battlefield my grandfather has created in his dining room for me.

I walk up to the door, take a deep breath and release it before pushing both large doors open. I step in immediately saying,

"Night, grandfather." Before looking up and seeing a random male seated in the seat next to grandfather. I sort of stare at him before nodding my head without saying anything and then directing my attention back to grandfather.

"Granddaughter. How nice to see you again. Come, sit next to me. This here is Killian Pent. He is the grandson of a good... good friend of mine." I stare at him more intently this time before sitting down across from him. He has his hair dyed red which struck me odd for a billionaire but didn't care much. He also had green eyes. What seem to stand out the most was what he had on. He was wearing a really expensive brand of clothing, as "high-end" like ours, and gold-plated jewelry and a watch.

The fact he had those things made me realize from the start what kind of a person he was.

"Haha. Nice to meet you, Killian." I say a little exaggeratingly before continuing. "I see you really like... gold." He smiled before saying,

"I do. And I'm sure you'll come to love it too. Clearly, your sense of fashion is amazing so some gold will do you just fine." He smirks a little and I just look at my grandfather who immediately looks away at the ceiling like this wasn't his doing.

'I'll get back to you later old man' I say in my head while glaring at him.

"So grandfather... what is the reason I'm here?" I say. "You said you wanted to talk to me about the whole marriage thing?"

"Oh yes. My granddaughter. You know it's been a month already and you don't seem to be having any luck so here is Killian." He smiles before bursting out in a deep laugh when I glare at him. "He is a fine lad and will help the business flourish too. He is managing his own grandfather's business in Commerce, and E-Commerce, which might really help." He says in a sing-song type of way.

"Grandfatherrrr." I say glaring again. He laughs once more.

"Please, I'm just trying to help. Give him a try first?" I look at him and he's smiling.

"Fine. But does it have to be today?"

"Yes, today. Why don't you walk around the mansion or something? I'll be here the whole time." I stand.

"Fine. Killian? Would you like to go?" He stands also.

"Certainly madam." He walks over to me and offers his arm. I smile that he did that. He seems more gentlemanly than the others. But then I said that for Greg and look what happened. I sigh aloud and Killian seems to hear.

"You okay?" He says looking at me as we slowly walk my grandfather's mansions' halls.

"Yeah. After grandfather started this whole thing, my life has been hectic. And, I'm just starting to realize that my dating life really isn't that good." He chuckles before saying,

"Right this whole... "marriage thing" like you said. I can understand but then again, you could just end it right here and now." He smirks at me and I stare at him shockingly.

"Uh. What did you say? That I could end it? How?" He stops walking so I stop too.

"I have a lot of money so I could support both of us if you wanted AND you wouldn't need to go any further in your search because your grandfather already likes me and so it makes this much easier. We'll be like the power couple of the country. And so, you could say yes to my proposal now and tell your grandfather that we're engaged and all will be-"

"What? All will be what Killian? First, YOU... support ME? We both have a lot of money might I add so YOU having money isn't really important to me and secondly, grandfather might like you but he mentioned to me that the person that I choose, he won't care who it is so even if you are on my grandfather's good side, it won't truly matter that much. So thanks for, trying, to "propose" to me but I don't think that was the best way to do it and also, you just aren't someone I think fit's my regulations so I'm sorry but I'll have to tell my grandfather that it's a no from me. Thanks for coming tonight and I hope, you won't be a stranger next time we talk. Yeah?"

I unlock our arms from one another and stalk off to the dining area with Killian right behind me.

"Wait, Elizabeth! I'm sorry if I sounded ignorant to you. I just wanted you to know you'd be well taken care of, yeah?" I grunt.

"No Killian. I can take care of myself. I'm not getting a husband to help me. More for having someone by my side who knows me and doesn't care about certain things... like money." I say before finally reaching the dining room and stopping right after going in.

"Grandfather, I'm taking my leave now," I say in an upset-like voice.

"Granddaughter? Are you okay? What-"

"Grandfather, Killian just... isn't for me okay? I'll be going now. Talk again soon." After that, I walk by Killian before stopping and saying,

"To you too Killian." And then I continue walking out and to my car.

"Sigh. What is this? Why doesn't anything work! Gosh!" I say aloud to myself in the car.

"Maybe I should take a break. Yeah, that's it... a break."
