Chapter 16

Moving outside to the large terrace to have a look around, with little sunlight up above in the thin clouds, the lawn was decent as hands shoveled the snow.

He spotted a woman standing next to a pine tree coated with snow, recognizing the midnight blue she wore, he set in motion with brisk steps and she turned with smiling blue eyes with a baby strapped to her front.

Sam gasped

"Oh Logan, thank you for this lovely dress."

He almost didn't recognize her with her hair up in a complicated hairstyle with pins and make-up. Darby's lips parted and drool slid down his mouth.

He was irritated, Sam was wearing the dress he mailed to her. Not that she looked terrible in it.

"Where's Keira?"

She smiled sweetly sizing him up in his black tux and bowtie and shiny loafers that gleamed under the sunlight. His hair was combed back, it was thick and satiny, she almost believed he greased it.

He looked up to the lane where she was looming, sporting a multi-colored dress that looked like either a bridal gown or what a cosplayer would wear to pose as a fairy.

She had a soft pink eyeshadow on that made her green eyes richer, her hair was parted into two tails in elastic caps with the strings flowing down. She was holding a small white purse over her bare shoulder, his eyes trailed down her dress to her ravishingly long legs stretched down to low silver heels.

He didn't know if this was an insult or just her way of saying no, to his surprise, he wasn't displeased.

Logan took her hand and she jerked it away.

"I almost didn't believe you would show up"

"Me neither we had to prepare Mister Cries- A lot here and it took double the time to wear that dress."

Sam shrugged, for the first time, he noticed Darby was wearing a black shirt with a print of a bow tie, thermal pants, and socks. With a beanie to protect his head.

Darby was staring at him with curious brown eyes, Logan pulled out a napkin to wipe his mouth, he gurgled getting a hold of it.

"Thank you" Sam smiled.

"Hall's that way, you won't miss it"

"Okay" She nodded winking at Keira who frowned, she walked up the steps to meet a chaperone who led her inside.

Keira felt heat spread in her gut when those grey eyes touched down on her. Her eyelashes fluttered, he must get a kick out of women swooning over him, she willed herself to focus.

"Someone has something to say to you"

The lady from the day before yesterday joined them, she was wearing a blue dress with an oversized black coat that gave it a more elegant look, she looked like she stepped out of a Vogue Magazine, her slender neck was bare and her hair had been highlighted. Heavy makeup and deep red lipstick. She gave Keira an apologetic look.

"You must be Keira Miller. I'm Amy, Logan's sister" She held up her hand and Keira returned her gesture for a handshake.

Keira could see some similarities, they had the same kind of smile, she couldn't get the image out of her head.

"I misjudged you. Sorry about that, I was overreacting, he told me everything"

Keir's eyebrows rose "Everything?"
