Chapter 18

"I can't help but express my deepest appreciation for Logan bringing Keira and her companions in our midst, what a great way to start the month"

Darby squawked and Sam covered his mouth.

"It means he couldn't agree more" She backed up and glanced at Amy whose expression changed, her eyes narrowed.

Surprised, Sam followed her gaze to a woman with straight, long black hair and perfect facial features, grey eyes, and full lips, her turquoise dress outlined her curvy figure and sparkling things on her dress that could only be rhinestones.

She held a matching turquoise Armani bag, she passed them a generous smile.

"What's she doing here?" Amy asked.

"Amy" Melissa cautioned.

"So what's the occasion for?" She asked and gave Joanna air kisses and settled down.

"Logan's no longer in the market" Amy raised her glass and drank with a smirk teasing the corner of her lip.

Megan Danforth winced and she laughed.

"Oh, that's wonderful news"

Her eyes moved to Keira and flashed.

"You were right on time Megan," Melissa said cheerful, her eyes didn't leave Keira's.

'I see grey eyes run in the family' Keira thought but Logan mentioned having only two sisters, another voice told. Megan leaned forward clasping her fingers together.

"So how did you two meet?"

Alarmed at the question, she wasn't prepared for an impromptu.

"At a store_"

"What she means is at a restaurant. Offshore"

His hand moved to hold hers, she bit her lip, that was his cue for her to stop talking.

Joanna chuckled "That's alright, forgetting isn't a crime,"

Logan cheered her on mentally.

Keira didn't miss the hand that crawled to his upper arm.

"You didn't tell me you were coming to town, Logan" she purred.

He grinned "I_"

"He didn't tell any of us, let's eat" Amy interrupted.

Keira ignored that fuzzy feeling in her stomach and picked up a fork, to have a taste of the kimchi. Big mistake.  Amazed the taste didn't overpower the kale and lettuce, however, it didn't take her mind off the woman trying to look sweet at him, he was playing along.

She winced when his leg brushed against her, the utensils at her front rattled, heads turned her way.

"Anything wrong?" Joanna inquired.

"No" She choked out, drinking from a glass of what could only be Chardonnay.

Dinner was over and the others joined Keira, Melissa gave her a warm hug, she worked as a financial consultant at Daniels corp. And was the middle child.

"It was nice meeting you"

"I feel the same way"

She introduced the blond man to her as Barry Dalton, who was a producer at some big recording studio in Dallas, TX.

It was too easy.

Sam went on tour with Amy Melissa accompanied her mom along with Barry while she winded her way into a maze, the last time she was here, she was lucky to find his dog wandering, now she wasn't so sure of where to turn.

A tall man in a tuxedo with tails joined her, he looked to be sixty with thinning white hair from the top of his head.

"Good afternoon, Miss Miller"
