Chapter 19

Keira chuckled nervously.

"I'm sorry, I don't know you, have we met before?"

"My apologies, I'm Lucius Abrams, Mister Daniels's...trusted butler," he said rolling his eyes as if he had made that introduction a million times.

She smiled "Well am I thrilled to see you, mister Abrams"

His lips quirked and he kept from smiling

"Lucius is fine"

"I'm looking for Mister Daniels_Logan"

"Right this way" He ushered him to the hallway by the left side and she came after him till they reached a door she recognized.

"Thanks"

"Anytime, Miss Miller, anytime..." he drawled walking away with his hands behind his back. She gazed on after him and then put her hand on the doorknob, it veered open.

Annoyed that she would have to wait for Sam till she was satisfied with her adventures, she walked not Megan adjusting his collar.

"Dinner is over good grief, Megan," He mumbled playfully.

"No, I think there's still room for dessert"

He put his hand on hers taking it off, Megan backed away from him realizing there was a guest.

"Kara, fancy meeting you here"

"It's Keira" She feigned a smile, up close, she realized the contours of Megan's face were perfect...too perfect and her grey eyes were contacts. Her hands slid down Logan's chest and. She grabbed her purse.

"I'll be on my way" Keira gave a curt nod and Megan slipped past her moving out the door, Keira moved uneasily.

"Well goodbye"

She turned to open the door and inhaled sharply when a hand pushed the door shut she could feel his body heat, facing him, he had her cornered and she put out a hand to his chest to keep her distance.

He was sturdy underneath all that fabric. So was his heartbeat.

"I assumed that you were going to stay longer" his voice was raspy and low. It rumbled like a sedentary lion's.

"You assumed wrong The cologne he wore that was presumed to have long been faded still lingered and a whiff of another different perfume.

She was heady from the scent.

"Don't tell me you came all this way to say goodbye"

Her nostrils erupted and her senses were overcome by the lure.

He stared into her face with wonder and delight, the makeup failed to conceal the freckles strew just below her eyes, he skimmed them and tilted her head dipping closer

"Yes"

He scoffed at her interruption 'good to know' he muttered.

Keira's knee went up heavily in between his legs and he grunted falling over with a sound of the dull impact. His vision went blurry for a second and he cursed, limping to a black seat to recuperate. The redhead threw a mean kick.

Keira reached for the doorknob with shaking hands, the door was locked and durable. She faced him, her heart was thumping out of rhythm.

His hair was scattered at different angles, he raised a key, breathing steadily.

"Shall we try this again?"

He got off one knee then the other, taking off his jacket and unknotting his bow tie.
