Chapter 20

Wrapping his arm around the small of her back, his eyes scoured her face, she was steaming at him with fiery green eyes.

Keira shook when he yanked her closed to himself, with one large hand, he made it concave on her the soft spot of her face.

Keira could feel his warm gust against the tip of her nose hinting that he was getting closer, her hand relaxed thus her eyes lowered till they closed until she heard the locks click, her eyes fluttered open meeting his hostile glare.

"Get out"

He watched her slip away to his distaste, it was clear where her head's at raking his hair with his other fist pinned against the wall where she previously stood.

He almost had her, why did he waver? Perhaps he hated to see the terror in her eyes or the displeasure in her attitude. He preferred the light in her eyes and the radiance just like when she saw Harry for the first time.

He laughed at himself, since when did he care about that...since he learned he hated being rejected, it didn't pay up with him that Keira to some extent could resist.

"Damn it" he cursed.

Logan grabbed a coat and hiked to the back of the mansion where he set up an enclosure, Harry was foraging inside, he spotted Logan and moved around restlessly with his paw on the rail.

"Jail time's over buddy"

He grinned when Harry whisked out the instant the gate screeched open into his arms. This time he didn't mind being nudged on the face, he gave the dog's back a little scratch.

He might just be the key to the kitten's heart.

...

Keira laid back wondering why he hesitated, she had been so unnerved after what almost transpired that she tottered her way to a bathroom to wet her face with water.

She had a dream where the kiss had not been compromised and she hadn't been dealt with so inappropriately. His voice was still very sluggish but well-meaning.

She felt an imprint on her lips.

"Keira...Keira!" Sam snapped her out of her fantasies. She realized that she was clutching Darby like a teddy bear with his cheek on her lips. That explained the imprint.

She sat up with her pigtails rough around the edges with him yawning.

"What?"

"I've got news, Logan's in the apartment."

Her eyes rounded "This is a prank, right?"

She stood up lifting Darby from in-between his legs, he giggled as she hurried to the living room and found no one but boxes of ornament. Sam laughed.

"Gasp, this is a prank, right? Classic"

Keira pouted at her 'Few weeks to college' she repeated in her head. Darby squealed when she let him down on the couch.

"What's all this chaos?"

Sam folded her arms "Not too early to start festooning"

"You woke up before me" Keira frowned in alarm, Sam grinned "Yup"

"And the house is spotless too," She said in disbelief.

"I know, some turkey dinner,  am I right?" She patted her stomach.

Keira smiled lovingly when he passed her a ball he gnawed on previously, taking the ball. He had on only a blue shirt and diapers.

Her phone vibrated, she reached over to the coffee table to answer it"

"Miller's house...Jen. Hi"
