You Don't Scare Me

By the time the sun was up and Aliana's maids were knocking on the door to wake her, Lucien was long gone. Aliana sleepily frowned at the empty bed beside her, she mumbled for her maids to enter, and moments later they were filling the bath with steaming hot water.

Edith started to get out a pink dress but Aliana shot out of bed and snatched it out of her hands. "I want a darker color," she growled.

Edith looked surprised but grabbed the dress gently from her princess, putting it back in the wardrobe. "Why don't you get in the bath and I will find a deep green or a black dress for you, hmm?" Edith suggested.

Aliana nodded. "I'm sorry, Edith, that was rude of me to snap at you like that." She threw off her nightgown and got into the large bathtub that smelled of calming herbs like lavender and chamomile.

"It's okay, Your Highness," Edith said as she rifled through the wardrobe.
