Chapter 52: I.Don't.Care

When Jackson woke the next morning, he was surprised to find that Emma hadn't followed her normal sleeping routine of sleeping untouched on the far end of the bed. She was curled up against him with her hand resting on his stomach and one leg draped over his. She hadn't even pulled all the covers off. Maybe sleeping in his bed was the secret to getting Emma to stay next to him all night. Damn she felt good in his arms, and he wasn't moving an inch. He was going to lay right there and enjoy every second of it.

He was drifting back off to sleep when a quirky ringtone filled the silence and had him waking back up. The song announced that Emma's mom was calling, so he pulled the phone from the nightstand and placed it in the outstretched hand of the woman next to him.

"Hey, Mom... Yeah, I'm still sleeping... no, no reason... feeling fine."
