The next morning, Jasmine woke up to an unusual silence covering the place. She took her phone, which was on her bedside table, and looked at the time. It was past 11, and Lily did not wake her up, as she always did.
She felt that there was something wrong with Lily, especially after what happened yesterday. When Jasmine was talking to her mother, she heard a noise outside her room. She hung up the call and went to check if Lily came.
“Lily, was it you next to my door?” Jasmine asked Lily from behind Lily’s bedroom.
Lily answered in a flat tone, “I am really tired. Good night”.
Jasmine stood behind the closed door, trying to understand what was wrong with Lily. She knew that something bothered her today. She felt that Lily was really hurt.
Jasmine knocked on Lily’s door. “Lily, are you ok?” she paused a while, and then she said, “Come on, Lily, I cannot leave you upset like this.” She waited for a reply, but Lily did not answer.
