Chapter 34: LIVING THE LIE - PART 1

It was dark outside when Lieutenant Jack Harwell parked his car in front of his home. Exhausted from a long day, he exited the vehicle. A cool rush of air breezed against his face, reminding him winter was just around the corner. He loved the cool nights, and the warm Indian summer days they'd been having. September had always been his favorite time of year when the leaves began to change color like a vivid oil painting.

He stopped to admire the maze of brilliant colors the leaves showcased in the soft glow hosted by the streetlights. Warm thoughts flooded his mind and brought him back to the happy memories of his childhood.
