~Chaviv~
I uber myself to the closest restaurant there is. The uber drops me off at a small 80s diner.
I said my thanks and hopped out. I don't go in and just stare at the diner. I don't feel like eating here, despite how hungry I was feeling, I decided to just take my time and find a restaurant that spoke to me.
I take a leisure walk around Blue Moon City admiring its architectures and the soft hints of blues but the city hall stood out more with its royal blue. Alicia had told me that at night when you fly above it the dome would glow bright blue like the moon. Which I'm sure is where the city got its name when it was first built. The difference between Blue Moon City and Sun City is like night and day.
Sun City is all about nature, very few electricity is used and Blue Moon City is all about electricity. Vibrant lights, giant screens, the noise from the lights make it hard to see the stars, you can only see the a few stars that shine the brightest.
My feet eventually wonders inside a restaurant. Its already packed inside, soft music playing and loud chatters happening at different tables. My eyes catch a glimpse of raven black hair. She's standing by the bar talking to a guy wiping glasses. They look too friendly for my liking, I fight the urge to walk over there and pull her close to me, making it known that she's mine. I breathe when she walks away to attend to a customer. I find myself unable to look away, she looks absolutely stunning. She's wearing the standard waitress uniform; a black polo shirt with the restaurant's logo and black dress pants, a black apron wrapped around her waist.
Her hair is tied up into a neat ponytail that sways when she walks and shows off her slim neck. My fingers tingle at the thought of tracing my fingers down her neck and inhaling her chocolate vanilla scent. I can smell it from the doorway. A waitress walks up to me and for a moment freezes. Oh boy. She immediately smiles at me flirtatiously "Hi, table for two?" She asks and I'm sure it's to find out if I have someone.
"For one, thanks." Her smile slightly grows and she leads me to my table. My heart leaps when I her voice, it's friendly and professional as she serves customers and takes their orders. I'm left breathless when I gaze over and see her smile at a small baby that's got a grip on her apron. The parents are apologizing and trying to loosen the baby's grip.
She assures the parents its fine and entertains the child. She tickles its little belly and the baby starts laughing, letting go of her apron. She doesn't stop for awhile until the baby is now screaming in joy. She nuzzles her nose against the baby's nose before stepping back to take the family's order.
I'm completely mesmerized by her. My heart is beating hard and fast in my chest. It stirs something in me or more like its stirs him awake.
The waitress sets me down by the window table and places the menu down. Her hazel blue eyes skim over me and I can feel the sexual desire radiating off her. She pushes a few strands of her aurburn hair behind her ear in that sort or flirtatious way, "Anything I can get you while you browse through the menu," she purred "I can even tell you about todays specials." She leans forward and her chest is in my view, I look away and face the menu.
She must think I'm looking away from embarrassment cause I hear her pulse quicken. Her perfume is overpowering and attacking my senses. I can feel him getting agitated and honestly so am I but I keep my expression cool.
"That won't be necessary, I'll just have a glass of water," I reply, she eyes me again before stepping back, feeling a little disappointed but not discouraged, "I'll get that water for you." She winks and saunters off. I breathe a sigh of relief, her perfume still lingers in the air. It makes my insides coil
I scan the room and it doesn't take long for my eyes to find her. She still hasn't noticed me. It's quite intriguing seeing this side of her, upbeat and professional. She's so focused I can't help but wanting to see more.
The waitress comes back with my glass of water, "Here's your water sir," she purrs. The lust is radiating off her and I'm wishing she'd leave but instead she fishes out her notebook and pen from her apron, "Are you ready to order or you'd like a little more time?" My eyes follow her when she disappears behind the waitress for a split second, heading towards the kitchen. "I'll like a little more time," I say dismissively not even glancing down at the menu.
When she sees I'm not giving her attention, she glances over her shoulder to see who I'm looking at and a light bulb goes off. "I'll leave you to it." There's excitement in her voice and she quickly walks away.
Now my heart is accelerating in my chest as I watch the waitress talk to her. The waitress motions their head towards me causing her to glance over my direction and I feel like time had stopped for a split second.
Her eyes widen when she sees me and curses under her breath before hiding her face behind the menus. I can't help smiling when she grabs the other girls wrist and quickly drags her to the kitchen.
I'm still looking at the kitchen door while the waitress talks her and she peaks through the small round glass window. She drops down she sees me and I can hear the muffled strings of curses, I stifle my laughter. She's cute. I spot another waitress appearing, although their voices are muffled by the door I can still hear a bit of their conversation and I can't help smile when she let's slip how I smelled like.
I continued listening in, hoping that at least one of them was going to say her name. I see her get up and walk further into the kitchen with the two waitress in tow. The conversation fades out and I'm unable to hear them. Within me I feel him pacing, like an animal trapped in a cage and its making me slightly agitated.
A male waitress walks by offering to take me order but I shake my head, letting him know I'm fine for now, he nods and walks away. In all honesty, I want her to be taking my order and if I have to sit here all night to get her than that's what I'll have to do.
My phone vibrates in my jacket. I pull it out to see who was calling and I immediately suck in my breathe, I hit answer and bring the phone up to my ear, "Hi mama."
"Don't 'hi mama' me, you were supposed to call the moment you got to school!" Mama's voice rings through the phone and I wince, "Sorry mama, I completely forgot."
"You forgot!" I flinch at her tone. Oops.
"It hasn't even been a day and already you've forgotten about us!" She goes on, I roll my eyes as I picture her wounded expression and the pacing when she gets riled up, "But didn't Aunt Mary call you to let you know I arrived safely?"
"I remember telling a certain son to call me himself not send a messenger," her tone is harsher and she's most likely narrowing her eyes at the phone.
Knowing I was going to deal with a whirlwind of an emotional mother, I took a different approach. "I know mama and I'm sorry. I got so caught up in my classes that it had slipped my mind. I just assumed Aunt Mary would tell you when she arrives and that I'll call you later on today," I tell her and the line goes silent for awhile.
"Well than, since you were planning on calling me I guess it's alright then," she says, her tone softening. "So how have you been settling and have you eaten yet? Remember it's very important to look after your health and to make sure you eat well and what's that noise?" She goes silent as she listens to my background, she gasped, "Chaviv Ali Céric, are you eating at a restaurant?"
I grimance when she calls out my full name to indicate that I'm in trouble, "Mama, it's only the first day. I didn't have time to go grocery shopping," I tell her and she makes these noises like she wants to say something but can't.
"Well...I guess that's the only option," she says reluctantly "but besides that, how are you? You feeling okay?" She sounds worried and I can't help wonder if it's about this morning when Miguel told me about the church.
"I'm fine mama. Is everything alright?" I ask her, its hard to read her emotions over the phone but I know something is up when she says, "Peachy dear, I was just calling to check up on you."
I narrow my eyes at the phone. I want to ask more but I know she won't tell me so I let it go and figure I'll ask another time. "Okay mama, I have to go. I'll talk to you soon."
"I'll come over there if you don't," she warned and I chuckled, "Okay mama, love you," I tell her and I hear her smile "Love you to my son." I drop the call and I see a couple of texts from Miguel that were sent an hour ago. How did I not hear my phone go off?
I open the message and read the first one he had sent which was warning me to keep a look out and that I should keep my head down cause he thinks the church might be watching me. I continue to scroll down the row of warning texts and get to the recent one which is him telling me to call mama. I roll my eyes than scroll back up to his warning messages.
A heavy feeling grew in the pit of my stomach as I reread the messages over and over. The words 'Watching me' unsettled me. It means that the church definitely knows something and they watching me to make sure. I haven't even figure out why they so interested in me besides wanting to perform an exorcism on me.
I text back Miguel thanking him for giving me a heads up and than put my phone into my pocket. A moment later I see her walking towards me and my heart leaps, I can sense that she's nervous. I school my expression, keeping it nice and calm.
She smiles at me when she reaches my table, "Evening, welcome to Anita's. My name is Buck-" her eyes widen and she looks away and goes off into a ramble. I try to keep my expression as calm as possible, covering my mouth with my hand to hide the smile that's trying to form its way on my lips "-I mean I'm Anita and welcome to Buck's, not that the restaurant is named after me cause that would be weird for the owner serving customers but I'm not the owner so I'll be your waitress tonight."
"Well not specifically your waitress, I mean as in I'll be in charge of bringing you your food, sorry let me rephrase that; what can I get you?" Her eyes are trained to her notepad. I'm unable to hold back and I burst out laughing, she's just so cute when she's flustered. "Forgive me for laughing, I was just not expecting that-" I say in between laughs "It's nice to meet you Anita, I'm Chaviv and I'll be your customer tonight," I smile at her and rest my chin on my hand. I didn't think that I'd get the chance of her serving my so soon and even know her name. I thank the God's for giving me this chance and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.
She shifts into her work mode and I'm just intrigued by the focus, "Tonight's special is the beef lasagna, and our pasta is freshly made. We also have the classic chicken soup that's sure to make you feel right at home." I feel at home with you around.
I pick up the menu and pretend to be going through the menu. I'd eat anything she offers me in a heartbeat but I want to take my time. I want to keep her here as long as possible, just taking in her presence. I want to pull her closer and let her sit on my lap as I hold her close and inhale her scent. I feel the sense of possession growing deep inside and I know its coming from him. We both want her.
"I'll have the beef lasagna with creme soda." I close the menu and look up at her, a smile spreading across my face. I seem to smile at her a lot without a reason to smile. She's reason enough to smile, she's my sunshine.
She takes down my order, "of course sir, anything else?" The formality cuts at me like a knife even though I know she's just doing her job and bite back from telling her to just call me Chaviv.
"What do you recommended for dessert?" I hear her heart beating like a drum and I wonder what thought passed through her pretty little head. She leans for the menu and pages to the dessert section. A whiff of chocolate vinalla catches my nose. I don't hear what she's saying as I study her face and her eyes. I want to take the strand of hair and put it behind her ear. I want to do so much more. I want to trace my fingers across her jaw line and put my fingers through her hair.
She turns to face me and our eyes met, I can feel the sparks go off between us. "...for you," she trails off. Her hazel brown eyes seem to glow and I felt calm, she has a calming effect on me which only strengthen the possessive feeling. My fingers twitch, I want to pull her closer to me, but before I could act out my impulse she stands up straight. Looking flustered. She clears her throat and for a moment I forget that she was taking my order and I nearly grab her hand but I don't.
Realizing that she's waiting on me, I try to remember what she was saying but nothing comes up so I quickly say the first thing that comes to mind, "I'll have the chocolate cake then." I close the menu and give it to her, she takes it with a smile "Coming right up," she says than stalks off.
I run my fingers through my hair as I exhale and watch her walk into the kitchen. Jesus, she's going to be the death of me. Every fiber in my body is calling out to her, wanting her and for the first time ever I'm terrified.
I've never felt this way about anyone before. Even when I was a kid, I had crushes but I never craved their presences like I crave her.
The demon inside me wanted her just as much as I did and I think that also terrifies me. I'm not worried that he'll hurt her. I'm more concerned of the lengths he'll go through to have her or even protect her.
I look down at my wrist. The sapphire embedded bracelets gleamed under the fluorescent lights. As long as I have these bracelets on, there's nothing he can do. They've been enchanted to keep him at bay, weakening his powers. Although I am able to use a few.
I've got sense of smell, sights including hearing and a few other perks. Basically I have the perks of a vampire but without the need to consume blood and the constant irritation of the sun on my skin.
I feel a pair of eyes on me, I search to see who it might be boring a hole through my skull. My eyes landed at the bar and I see that its the guy, Anita, was talking to earlier. His emerald green eyes narrowed at me, his brows knitted tightly together as if he's trying to figure out something.
The look he was giving me rubbed me up the wrong way. He reminded me of someone but I couldn't put a pin on it. I decide to ignore him and wait for my meal.
For the rest of the evening I stayed there for a while just watching Anita work. My meal eventually came and I must admit it was good. This was starting to become my favorite spot and not because of the food. After dessert, I stay a little longer to watch her work. Stalker vibes, I know. I order uber than asked for the check, leave her a tip and left the restaurant once my uber arrived.
The outside is cool against my skin and the city lights are bright tonight. I glance over my shoulder to see her one last time before hoping into the car and headed back to the campus.
