Chapter 16: Sports Festival

(Daily Music: Undertale - Undertale (Original Lyrics) )

The day of the Sports Festival had arrived. I was extremely excited for this. I only hope that all the others trained as much as I did, harder even. Otherwise this would be boring.

On another note, I had managed to increase my natural speed without any multipliers of any kind. I could now come close to breaking the sound barrier upon running at full speed. I also trained to be able to turn instantly without losing any speed.

We were in the waiting room, getting changed into our P.E outfits, to make it fair for others who might otherwise have gone against someone with their costumes that enhance or synergize with their Lura. It didn't affect me at all, since my outfit didn't affect my Lura whatsoever.

Iida came into the room to notify us to get ready, since we were going out soon. However, Todoroki went up to Midoriya and gave a speech about how he was going to win. Something about his overconfidence ticked me off, but actions speak louder than words, so I made sure that I was going to make him deaf from my actions.

We were called out to come out. We all walked out into the stage, and overwhelming amounts of cheers were instantly heard.

-In the stands-

Mt Lady: Hey, look, there's a little boy there! I thought UA didn't accept people that young?

Kamui: Oh, him. Apparently, the Wild Wild Pussycats adopted him and put in a word about him to UA, so they accepted him. (For a kid to get accepted into UA, he must be really powerful. I guess we'll see what he's got.)

Mt Lady: (He's so cute! But I hope he's strong enough for this. The Sports Festival is pretty brutal even for talented students, so he's gotta be real good to not get hurt.)

A woman in strange clothing arrived, judging from the name I'm hearing the students around me mutter, her Hero name is Midnight.

I wonder why they're so excited when they look at her, though. Maybe's she really strong?

Ignoring that, she was the referee, and she asked the spiky blond haired boy, whose name is apparently Katsuki Bakugo, to give a pledge. He, instead, simply said that he'd win, earning displeased noises from lots of the students.

Our first preliminary exercise would be a 4 kilometre run around the stadium that is also littered with obstacles. The door opened almost as soon as she finished talking, and it started. While others were stumbling in the rush of students, I leapt over them all and got ahead of the whole crowd. The second I landed, I began sprinting, leaving a powerful blast of wind behind the spot I dashed from, pushing lots of students back even further.

Todoroki froze a good portion of the floor, but I manifested a bone on the soles of my feet shaped like ice skating boots, and skated across the ice. His attempt to give himself a boost ended up giving me one.

-In the stands-

Male Hero 1: Woah, look at the little guy!! He's way ahead of everyone else!

Female Hero 1: For a little one, he's really impressive physically, so far.

Male Hero 2: I can't wait to see what his Quirk is! It's gotta be somethin' really cool!

-Back to the Jokara-

I eventually spotted robots from the Entrance Exam in the way.

Present Mic: LOOKS LIKE THE LITTLE GUY HAS REACHED THE FIRST OBSTACLE! WILL HE GET OUT OF THIS AND CONTINUE, OR WILL HE BE STOPPED HERE!

Aizawa: So loud and eccentric.

If they seriously believe this is enough to stop me, they should retire as Heroes, because that level of stupidity shouldn't be allowed to be in the profession of saving people.

I leapt up to the hand of one of the 0 pointers, and ran up it's hand. When I reached up halfway, I used my first combo stance of Vera. I combined Lightning Stance and Earth Stance, and jumped up to where it's head was. Using my massively increased speed and strength along with my momentum, I roundhouse kicked it in the head.

It's head got completely blown off of it's body. The now destroyed robot fell down, blocking a large part of the track.

-In the stands-

(In the minds of all people watching, Pro Heroes included): HOLY SHIT!!

Mt Lady: You're telling me that cute kid completely destroyed that giant robot with a single kick!!!?

Kamui Woods: How the hell is this an 8 year old?!

(They don't know that he used Stances to massively boost his abilities, they think that's his regular strength)

-Back to Jokara-

I left the rest of the robots for the other students to deal with, and continued sprinting ahead. It didn't take long for me to come across what I assumed was the next obstacle, a chasm with a tightrope. This is way too easy, I did agility training in the forest by jumping from tree to tree, this is nothing.

(Basically, his agility training is that Tree Jumping minigame in the first Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Game.)

I simply jumped on each of the tall rocks to the next one, and I cleared it in around 10 seconds.

Present Mic: AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE LITTLE GUY BLAZES STRAIGHT THROUGH THE SECOND OBSTACLE!! FOLKS, CAN ANYTHING STOP THE PINT-SIZED HERO IN TRAINING?!

Aizawa: How did you get me to agree with this?

I kept dashing, eventually coming across what looked to be the last obstacle. Judging by the warning signs and what they say, this is a minefield. Too easy.

I concentrated all my strength into my legs, jumped as far as I could forwards. I cleared most of the field, and when I came down, instead of hitting the floor and probably end up setting off a mine, I landed on my palms, and pushed myself right back into the air.

This was something I managed to do with my increased agility. I could do something that a snake could do with it's tail: Support the entirety of my body weight with just the tip of a finger or similar, like a toe. (Snakes can balance all their weight on the tip of their tail)

I got clear of the mines in no time, and from then on, I simply dashed to the finish line, making me first place.

Present Mic: AND MINI-MAN WINS THE RUN IN FIRST PLACE!!! LOOKS LIKE HIS AGE DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIS SKILL, FOLKS!!

-In the stands-

Mt Lady: He did it!! Incredible!! And so easily!

Kamui Woods: He didn't struggle once. Impressive.

(When you see this "*" it's narration)

*The Pussycats had come to the festival to watch Jokara as well, and they were all reeling in excitement*

Tiger: THAT'S MY BOOOOOOYYYY!!!

Pixie Bob: GOOD JOB!!!

Ragdoll: YOU DID GREAT SWEETIE!!!

Mandalay: INCREDIBLE JOB, HONEY!!

-Back with Jokara-

The words from my family made me smile. Sure, it was somewhat embarrassing that everyone heard this stuff, but not too bad.

I actually got to the finish line so fast, it was around a minute and a half till someone else passed. It was Midoriya. He was followed by Todoroki, who was in turn followed by Bakugo. Lots of others passed soon afterwards.

Afterwards, Midnight announced that we would have a Cavalry Battle. We would get points for taking other people's headbands. My headband, however, was basically an instant win for me if I kept it and for anyone else if they took it. I had a tactic for this that I think would work surprisingly well for how simple it is.

I needed three teammates. However, I needed to know something, first.

Me: Midnight, I assume you've heard of my battle companion, Ryujin, correct?

Midnight: Yes?

Me: Would it be alright if I counted him as a teammate?

Mineta: Hmm.... I'll allow it. Just make it sure that if it does attack competitors that it doesn't use venom and that it holds back!

Me: Thank you, Miss. Partner, you're up.

Ryujin slithered out of my P.E uniform's sleeve, looking around.

I walked up to the only two who I knew enough about to have enough confidence and care about to put in my team.

Kirishima and Mina.

Me: Would you two like to be my last two teammates?

Kirishima grinned and ruffled my hair.

Kirishima: Sure thing, li'l bro!

Mina: Hell yeah!

As everyone got into positions and got ready, I assembled my plan. Eventually, it was time to start

Midnight: GO!!

Almost every team instantly came straight for us. Simple-minded dumbasses.

Me: Ryujin, defend.

As soon as anyone got anywhere near us, Ryujin would tail-whip them. I would get disqualified if I purposefully made someone fall, so I settled for Ryujin stunning them. Thanks to all his enhancements from killing back at the forest during the weeks we had for training, his speed heavily outclassed that of anyone else's, so we would be fine. Just in case though, if anyone managed to get past him, I would hit them with a precise hit to their arms to disable them.

(Like how Tai Lee does in Avatar The Last Airbender)

Sure, it wasn't exciting, but this is how we got past the Cavalry Battle. Eventually, teams just stopped going after us and just went after each other. Obviously, we passed in first place.

Now, for the fun part.

Tournament fighting.

(This chapter would have come out much earlier today, but we got news that we were probably going to experience load-shedding, but it didn't happen, so that's a lot of wasted time)
