Chapter 23: Internship With Two Heroes, Part 5

(Daily Music: Doja Cat-Say So)

It was the fourth day of internships. I felt the results of yesterday's exercise settled by now. I could now easily lift up stacks of average-weighted cars with one hand. Also, my speed, without any kind of boosts, would now absolutely be able to exceed Mach 2.

As you probably expect from now, the first thing I did today was the upped exercise. 40 sets of everything, heavier weights on my body, heavier equipment, the sorts.

Afterwards, I realised what I wanted to focus on today.

Battle experience.

I wanted to get experience in different types of fights. Singular battles, group battles, that kind of stuff.

I would try and win each fight without using my Lura, just to give myself that much more experience in raw fights in which I will be at my lowest, such as if I was hit by something that would nullify my Lura, such as Aizawa.

Me: Miruko, I want to get better at battles today. So, can we use the combat simulation room? I saw it a few days ago when I was looking for my room.

Miruko: Sure thing. I was actually going to suggest getting you some fight experience. Follow me.

I followed her to a room that had a sign above the door that said "Combat Simulation Room".

Miruko: Alright, what's the first scenario you want to have simulated?

Me: Have it set in an area where I wouldn't be able to get any backup. Give me 5 enemies for now. I want all of them to have abilities that would make it difficult to battle them in melee.

She nodded and set the scenario into the controls for the room.

Miruko: Alright, room's ready for ya. Good luck.

I went into the room. It chose to simulate a demolished city. This was most likely it's interpretation of a case where I wouldn't be able to get help, since, in this scenario, other heroes would already be occupied with their villains, so I would be left alone to fight for myself.

Male Villain 1: Lookie here, everyone! A little boy who wants to fight us!

Female Villain 1: Well, looks like we have to put him to bed!

I didn't opt to use my incredible speed for this fight, otherwise it would end instantly and far too easily. So, I limited myself to a much lower level of speed. Around the average level for people with Lura.

I let the first villain approach me. He had scales over his body. That definitely means he has more defence than normal. When he got close to me, he went in for a punch, but I ducked under it, and punched upwards on his arm, hitting the bone in his arm straight through his skin, making the bone stick out.

He screamed in pain. I grabbed the bone sticking out of his arm and hit him over the head with it, knocking him out.

Male Villain 2: He got Meral! Get him!

The four remaining villains rushed to me. I jumped over the punch from the female villain with feathers, and kicked her with a rotating kick mid-air, knocking her out, and knocking out her teeth, giving her a concussion as well. As one of the male villains tried to stab me with blades coming out of his palms, I dodged it, grabbed his head, and slammed it on the floor, giving him permanent brain damage and knocking him out. Only two left now.

The remaining two were both female. One had gills and webbed hands and feet, and the other had very sharp teeth.

This time, I didn't wait for the villains to come after me. I first went after the one with sharp teeth first.

I swept her off her feet with a sweeping kick. As she was in the air, I jumped above her and kicked her on the top of the head with a spinning reverse axe kick to the top of the head, cracking her skull and knocking her unconscious.

The only remaining one was the one with webbed appendages and gills. She must have gotten scared from how easily I dispatched of her friends, as she tried to run.

I grabbed a jagged piece of debris near me, and threw it. It sliced into the back of her right leg, tripping her, and making sure she wouldn't be able to run.

I walked over to her, slowly. She tried shooting at me with water she shot out of her hands, but it didn't hurt me whatsoever, so I just keep approaching her.

When I got close to her, I slammed my right leg on the leg I threw the debris at, shattering the sharp debris from inside her leg, and breaking the leg as well. She screamed in pain.

I walked to her head, and stomped on it, knocking her out, and breaking the skull.

And with that, the simulation ended.

Miruko: Damn, kiddo, you're pretty brutal. Ya know, Heroes that brutal don't tend to be that popular.

Me: If I cared so much more about popularity over actually making a difference and saving others, then I would kill myself. Like the Heroes that way should do to themselves.

Miruko: ...Damn. I like your honesty, though. It's refreshing to see someone who'll actually tell people what they think about Heroes. I mean, you're pretty intense, but that's good. We need those kind of people in this line of work a lot more.

So, for the rest of my fourth day, I went through tons of battle scenarios without using my Lura, gaining lots of battle experience.

That's how I spent the fourth day of internships.

(Excited to brag to the people at school about how popular this book's gotten XD. Speaking of which, you people are insane! I started this story not even two weeks ago as of writing this chapter, and right now it has 162.6 thousand views. Holy Shit! I didn't think this book would even get 200 views! I was just making this for fun! I never knew people would enjoy it so much! Thank you all!)
