Chapter 39: Ultimate Move

(Daily Music: Living In Fiction-Maroon 5 Animals Cover)

Early this morning, as I was getting ready to go to school, Present Mic came to the lodge. He told us that, if my parents accepted so, I could reside in dorms near UA.

My parents decided to hear what I wanted to do.

I thought about it for a while. I actually saw no real point in agreeing to it.

For starters, I wanted to be with my family. The dorms would just be me living away from them.

Second, it would just make things unnecessarily difficult when I sneak out to do vigilante work. I have no doubts that UA has lots of people on lookout around the grounds, and I would also not be surprised if the dorms would have even more security than the other areas.

So, I declined. I would stay at the lodge.

After that, I get done with my morning pre-school routine and ran to school, early as usual. My watchers were there when I got there. I just went to them, and did my usual things before school, like my exercises. Soon, school began.

During homeroom, Aizawa told us about the upcoming Provisional Hero License Exams. If we succeeded at them, we would get a license to legally do hero work if we ever come across events where it's needed.

While this would allow me to go after petty criminals that I come across, I wouldn't be able to get away with what I want to do if I come across major criminals who have no qualms with murder of innocents as well as other crimes on that scale. Because I will always kill scum like that, no exceptions. I don't care if that makes me a villain in their blind eyes.

Aizawa told us that, to get ready for the provisional exam, we would be developing ultimate moves: Powerful moves or techniques that we could use to seriously boost ourselves or to deal extreme amounts of damage. Not that I would need it to pass, but whatever.

The thing is, I have hundreds of moves that could be considered ultimate moves. The problem is that it would probably set everyone off if I show them a killing move two days after torturing and killing All For One on live television across all of Japan. They would most likely mark me as a villain. And while they are all too weak to hinder me, it would still be annoying. So, I would have to come up with a non-lethal ultimate move.

A shame, really. I have so many ideas for potential ultimate moves, but they're all moves that would 100% kill someone.

Ah, I have an idea.

We all got in our hero outfits and made our way to Gym Gamma, where we would be training our moves. We actually had the rest of the summer to come up with and refine an ultimate move. Cementoss made pillars for all of us, and Ectoplasm made clones for each of us to train with.

Now, let's see if this works.

-3rd POV-

"Why are you just standing there?", the clone asked. He was confused on why Jokara was so silent, as well as why he looked so focused despite not seeming to be doing anything.

Suddenly, his right leg jerked forward, even though he didn't make any kind of command to move it.

Next, his left hand reached forward, again, despite not making any kind of command or movement to move it.

"What the?!", the clone exclaimed.

Jokara had a smirk on his face.

" I was curious if I could manipulate people's movements by focusing on them, picturing their bones, and imagining that I was pulling on them with some kind of invisible string in a certain direction. And it looks like it works! With this, I can puppeteer my foes!", he explained.

"Impressive technique. Do you have a name for it?", the clone praised, and asked.

"Skeletal Marionette", I responded.

And so, I had created a non-lethal ultimate move. I was actually quite proud of it.

For the rest of the summer, I refined the move.

I was able to improve it in these ways with the remaining days of summer:

I required less focus to use it

I could pull with a lot more force

I could force someone to make more complex movements, such as a twirl, instead of just simple reaches

I could control multiple body parts at a time

And so, that was how I made my ultimate move.

Tomorrow, we would be having the Provisional Hero Licensing Exams.

I can't wait to win.

(Short chapter, just because the next chapter will be a pretty big event)
