15 REIGN OF EMILIA- "Charmatized"

FRIDAY CONTINUES

"I still can't believe you get to live here." Hannah says, to Abigail and Emilia. They were finally moving into their condo. Ace agreed before saying:

"I, still can't believe you know how to sign."

"I guess there is a lot of things that you still do not know about me." Emilia replied. ~and you probably never will~ she thought.

"I guess there is." Ace smirks, taking Emilia's suitcase out of the trunk. "You know there are actual people who can do this right?" he says again, referring to them, moving her stuff for her.

"Oh I know, but were you not the ones who offered to help?" it was a rhetorical question. "Besides..." she paused. "I like seeing a bunch of cute guys moving my stuff around." before Emilia could realize what she was about to say, the words had already left her lips.

~Oh crap.~

"Oh really? Well I have no objections to that." Ace smirks.

After we unpack all the stuff, we all sigh tiredly and sit on Abbie and I's new sofa.

"You guys have a whole lot of stuff." Michael complains.

"No we do not. I bet you have way more stuff than we do." Abigail defends.

"Yeah, When it's combined with my parents' stuff." Michael says, matter-of-factly.

"Who wants lemonade?" Emilia interrupts. Soon after, there were multiple cheers throughout the living room, indicating that they all indeed want lemonade.

Emilia was about to say something, when her phone suddenly rang.

"Well, looks like, you are going to have to help yourself. I have to take this." Emilia says, causing her lazy friends to let out a sigh of exasperation, except for Abigail and James, who gave her a look as if asking: 'Is it your mother?' which Emilia replies with a look that says: 'Who else?'.

After excusing herself and making her way to her new room, Emilia answered the call.

Emilia: "Mutter, wie geht es dir?" [TRANSLATE GERMAN: Mother, how are you?"]

Mother: "Mir geht es gut, Liebling, wie geht es dir? did you like your gift?" [TRANSLATE GERMAN: I am fine, darling, how are you]

Emilia: "I am fine, mutter, and I appreciate your gift, but it is a house. Do you not think that, that is going a little overboard?"

Mother: Overboard? You have never complained before. What is the difference now?"

Emilia: "Now, I am suppose to be a regular teen remember? Anyways, thank you for the "gift" tell aunt Evelyn I said thank you as well. Abigail and I love it, in fact, our friends just helped us move in."

Mother: "You have friends? Oh that is wonderful dear!"

Emilia: "Thank you mother. So what is going on at home? how are my siblings doing? and the kingdom?" Emilia immediately started bombarding her mother with questions.

Mother: "Everyone is fine, the Kingdom is fine as always, am I not the queen? I told them that you were taking a Hiatus for a while, everything is under control."

Emilia: "Oh, that is great to hear."

Mother: "Oh, did I mention that prince Francis is sent you five hundred roses, again. He is a sweet boy that one" The queen was referring to prince Francis Montgomery of France. The one man -if he is even worthy of being called that- that Emilia's mother had been trying to convince her to marry.

Emilia let out a heavy sigh of frustration. It was not the first time her mother had droppend these sort of hints, but she had not been forced so she thought little of it. However, she was tired of going down this road again an again. Francis Montgomery was a terrible guy, and by all means not her type. He was the most selfish, self-absorbed and self-centered person she has ever met. So were all his relatives living in The Montgomery Castle.Unfortunately, it seems her dear mother has been caught up in this spider's web to realize the type of person he is.

Emilia: "Mother, we have been through this. Francis is not the type of guy a mother should reccomend to her daughter."

Mother: "What nonsense, he is a wonderful and handsome young man. He has always been a gentleman that one, always bringing me Roses whenever he is around."

Emilia: "You do know that he is only doing that because he wants to court me, mother, should you continue to to be charmed by this man Ich mache mir Sorgen, dass du verzaubert wirst."

[TRANSLATE GERMAN: I worry that you will become charmatized.]

Mother: "Haha, do not worry dear, as soon as you get back, then you will realize. After all, you did go away so you could mature better."

Emilia: "Forget it, mother. Ich werde Francis nie heiraten."

[TRANSLATE GERMAN: I will never marry Francis.]

Even though she was annoyed at the fact that her mother, whom is the sophisticated queen of one of the biggest kingdoms in the entire world, was practically putty in the hands of a mere french prince. She still did not dare to comment on it.

Emilia: "Well then, should that be all, I have to go help Abigail with something. I love you, and Aunt Eve and all my siblings. Tell them all "Hello" for me." After being granted permission to hang up, Emilia ran her left hand through her hair in absolute frustration. After a few seconds, she turned to exit her room but was shocked to see Ace standing there.

"H-How long have you been standing there?" she asked.

"Just long enough to know that you know german, and whatever you said about that Francis guy did not seem to be anything good." He did not understand german, but he could tell it different from other languages.

Emilia was relieved that he did not understand german. If he had, then she had no idea how she would have explained to Ace that her mother wanted her to marry someone at the age of eighteen.

"Yeah, Francis, he is just some stupid guy." Emilia lies.

"A stupid guy who is into you?" Ace suddenly blurted out.

Emilia could not help but respond honestly this time: "Yeah, I guess. Why?" She had to ask, she wanted to know what it was to him.

Ace scratched the back of his neck before responding: "Oh, nothing. Just curious."

Curious?

How can a guy be curious about if an other guy likes a particular girl?

Was it any of his business?

Certainly not.

Then why did Emilia feel like she wanted it to be?

Emilia: "R-right, well then, let us get back then."

Ace: "Oh, yeah, I was actually looking for the bathroom."

Emilia: "Oh, it is down the hall, to the left, then right."

Ace: "Right, thanks."

"No problem." Emilia mumbles awkwardly before briskly walking past him-

"Hey Emilia."

Emilia immediately stops. "Yes. Ace?"

Ace looked conflicted for a few seconds before he shook his head: "Never mind, it's nothing." For some reason, Ace felt his heart pumping rapidly in his chest.

Emilia's eyes cast down in disappointment, before walking out of the room. She did not know why, but she want to hear what Ace was about to say, but of course, she would never tell him that.
