Chapter 30 : SADNESS

Zoar quickly jumped up from his sleep.

He realized he was in the hospital. He was in a hospital bed.

"Zoar!"

He looked over and saw Kasstia.

She quickly jumped up from the chair beside her and wrapped him in an embrace.

"Kasstia..." Zoar truly missed her and he didn't know why. He never left her side.

"You've been out for 19 hours... I was so scared..." kasstia was crying now.

"I'm sorry... I'm here beside you now... we'll be like this forever from here on out..." Zoar petted Kasstia's hair as they hugged.

Zoar looked down and realized his right arm was wrapped in bandages.

"What happened to my arm?" Zoar asked.

Kasstia let go of him.

"You went crazy with your special magic back there..." Kasstia was holding his left hand now.

"You used your explosion technique more than 3 times... that 4rth one was massive..."

Zoar remembered now.

Arthimus.

"Is Arthimus dead?" Zoar looked at Kasstia.

"Yes... for sure. The military ... investigated the scene. They took Neal to the international high-class prison to question him... I was told yesterday by some officer that they found bits and pieces of Arthimus's body scattered around the debris." Kasstia twirled a little bit of Zoar's sideburn hair while she talked.

"Is that giant egg thing gone?" Zoar asked.

"Yes... it slowly disappeared after a couple of hours of being in the sky after Arthimus died." Kasstia said.

"I see..." Zoar suddenly remembered the worst part.

Maurice was dead.

"Before you ask... They did find what was left of Maurice's body too... They didn't tell me what was left though... They did tell them he would have a hero's funeral though since he was with us... The funeral is in 2 days." Kasstia looked sad now.

"He delivered a good rest..." Zoar wanted to see Maurice one more time.

He couldn't believe he was just gone.

"So wheres Krycella?" Zoar asked.

"She's still asleep. She overworked herself yesterday..." Kasstia said.

"She deserves good rest too..." Zoar gripped Kasstia's hand a little harder.

She looked up at him and saw tears rolling down his face. This made her want to cry too.

"Zoar?" Kasstia touched his cheek with a tear going down her face now.

"This is cruel Kasstia... He just died like it was nothing..." Zoar gripped her hand even harder.

Kasstia broke into tears and locked Zoar into a sad embrace.

Zoar hugged back and cried with her.

They were alone together once again.

April 19th, 3492.

2:46 PM.

Maurice's funeral day arrived.

Zoar, Kasstia, and Krycella went.

Riley came too.

Klara and Velvet came as well.

Riley was the most broken but he ate the pain well.

Klara brought Ami who was still asleep with her as well.

The funeral was led by a military general.

Zoar decided to speak first.

He walked up beside the casket and took a deep breath.

"We lose heroes every day. Thousands may be lost. Hundreds may be lost. Ten may be lost. One may be lost. That doesn't mean, the more there are the less important those deaths are, no. Every life is important no matter who they are. A good person or not. A villain could die and he would still have people who care about him. People that he is important to. No death is good no matter who they are. The people that person is close to being hurt. Hero or not, death is not easy for us." Zoar turned to the casket.

"Rest well my dear friend."

April 18th, 3492.

Zoar and Krycella decided they should go and visit Klara.

Zoar had his memories back so Klara more than likely did as well.

Zoar stood in front of her door, nervous.

"We got this brother." Krycella placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Right..." Zoar took a deep breath.

He raised his right hand and knocked on the door.

Zoar's heart was beating quickly as he awaited his mother to open it.

Krycella was just as nervous as Zoar but didn't show it much.

You could hear the door being unlocked.

Zoar took a deep breath.

The door slowly opened and there stood Klara.

Klara looked at Zoar and Krycella silently for a few seconds.

Then she smiled and tears started to come out of her eyes.

Krycella's eyes began watering up too.

Zoar smiled.

Klara locked Zoar and Krycella into a big hug.

They were family once again.

For the first time in 12 years.
