Arlo had finally found the front door, downside? It was locked. It had taken him three more days of walking around after rats to find it.
On the bright said Blacky and Arlo were both now level 5. Lower level monsters gave less and less exp as he leveled. He was starting to feel much more comfortable with his dagger though. Which was good since he still hadn't managed to get his hands on a bow. Those stupid gods seemed to have forgotten their original deal to send him one.
Arlo spend the morning looking for higher level rats hoping for some level 2 or 3 maybe even level 4. They all seemed to be level one though and if they got higher the furniture seemed to eat them. The darn furniture practically everything was furniture.
Arlo thought about going back to rat alley, but also decided against it. He didn't feel like being a chew toy for them again. If he reached level 7 before finding better prey he'd consider it.
His past encounter still stuck with him way too much and the after party hadn't helped. Mainly Sho's lovely soft tongue still hung vividly in his thoughts. He needed to get out of here before some stupid part of his brain decided to stay forever with the simi-nice demon.
Nope he was headed to the human world full of nice people and a sane environment. He refocused on his current work. Finding where Sho kept his keys. He couldn't steal a demon steed, considering they were way more powerful than him, so flying wasn't an option. He had to level up and travel on foot. This left the front door as his only option. He pulled up his stats.

"Hey system, what can you tell me about titles and unique skills?" Arlo asked. He had been hoping they would unlock magically at level 5 or something. If it was like other video games then titles were either just for show or would have benefits attached. The unique skill was something the gods had mentioned but hadn't had time to give him his choice. He was questioning if it would just stay a null value now.
[Error]
"Really that's all?"
[Error]
"You're the worst."
[I Know]
"Legit proof, I will remember this you know."
[Error, would you prefer me to say level too low?]
"Is my level too low?"
[Unknown]
"Never mind."
Arlo pulled up Blacky's stats, at least the system had sorted that into a viewable window.

"Seems you also have a unique skill, maybe everyone has the space for one, you know how to access them?" he looked at the little wolf who was now the side of a small dog. Of course being a wolf beast Blacky didn't answer.
Arlo ruffled the pup's fur happily. He was just like the dog he had always wanted and never gotten as a child in his past life. "I'm going to make sure I always spoil you rotten." He stated with a smile.
That night at dinner Sho seemed more tense than usual. The table where they were seated was already small and Sho had insisted on sitting on the same side as him.
"Are you alright?" Arlo asked hesitantly.
"Fine."
"You sure?"
Sho looked at Arlo "If I'm not will you come willingly to my bed?"
"My claim marker is fine for another two days."
"Who said anything about needing a claim, there is more to this world than claims."
"Never mind, forget I asked." Arlo replied. Sho almost seemed disappointed but the emotion was gone so fast it was like it had never been there.
Arlo felt a hand on his leg and he immediately tensed up. He swallowed his saliva and looked at Sho through the corners of his eyes. Sho was watching Arlo through the edges of his eyes as well and smirked while letting his hand slide up his leg. He instantly regretted wearing shorts instead of pants today.
Arlo tensed as his hand slid up his chest part way then back down his leg. He wasn't sure if he was hoping for more or for it to withdraw. Of course it slid back up and under his shorts this time. Arlo flinched as Sho grabbed something that definitely didn't belong to him.
Sho began gently massaging him with his fingers. Arlo clenched his legs together but it did nothing to slow the demon.
"Couldn't we at least finish dinner first?" Arlo muttered.
"Oh so we can after?" Sho's silver eyes beamed at the prospect and Arlo froze. He had totally walked into that one.
Seeing Arlo not give an answer Sho tightened his hold until Arlo let out a little gasp.
"Okay fine." Arlo gave in, "But only hands nothing more and only 3 minutes."
"That will do." Sho looked way to happy about it. He removed his hand as desert arrived.
Arlo looked at the red berry cakes and clenched his teeth. He hated how good they tasted. He needed to leave ASAP.
That night he entered Sho's room unsure how he felt. One part of him wanted to stay here and let this demon have him. The other wanted to leave and live the life he hadn't gotten in his past. He could have a girlfriend to live in a nice little house by the woods and... his brain trailed off….. live with Sho a nice large castle in the woods..... NO!
Sho's castle here in god (or rather gods?) knows what part of demon country was not happening.
Sho was waiting for him patiently. At least the demon was that if nothing else. Arlo quivered and slowly removed his clothes before lying down on the bed. The demon was getting more and more persistent as time passed. First it was just claiming, now it had progressed to touching his lower parts.... He wasn't sure how he felt about that and he definitely didn't want to get swept up in thoughts about where the future might end up.
"You know all I have to do is lick you here for a friend claim… its way more beneficial than a subordinate claim." Sho said. "If you let me do that next time you wouldn't have to worry about me giving you an order."
Arlo looked away from the demon as Sho's hands started moving his stuff.
"I'll think about it," Arlo practically hissed the phrase as he also let out a small moan. Seeing Sho's satisfied face he instantly started to feel his face grow warm.
Sho had mentioned it before, the friend claim was another step above subordinate and servant. Servant was complete servant while subordinates only had to comply when the phrase included the 'this is an order'. Friends didn't have to comply which would have benefits although Sho had never given him an order.
The three minutes ended up lasting a half hour. Then Sho left him alone again. He had demanded that Arlo spend the night in his room though. Once the demon was snoring Arlo looked around the room. He wasn't sure what he was looking for, maybe a crowbar? What would it take to open the front door?
He had never seen Sho use the front door, he had asked about it once and Sho had said it was to keep monsters out. He always used the flying demon steed platform.
His hands came across a golden key... it practically glowed with the words freedom. Arlo looked around making sure Sho was still sleeping and slipped it into a sock then into one of his shoes. He wouldn't miss it since he never used it. Once Arlo's level reached 10 he'd make a break for it. Hopefully at level ten he would be able to beat enough monsters to greatly increase his leveling speed outside the castle's walls.
He slipped back into bed with the demon and closed his eyes. He had to be smart about everything, his first few days in this world proved that much. Everything here relied on power those without power would just end up in a world of hurt. Arlo couldn't suppress the slight sadness that he couldn't take Sho with him.
Just how cool and awesome would he have been if he was a human? Didn't he say he grew up with the humans? If so why had he left anyway? Could races be changed, Arlo's did say demon, he mentally added that to his list of things to find a solution for.
