Surya Story

Andi is irritated by Surya's ignorant attitude, but still, he must maintain his decency. Instead of being angry, Andi could only give Surya a big smile.

"Luckily, I didn't eat much. Otherwise, I could have been in the hospital," said Andi with a forced smile.

"I hope you're not angry, Andi. Surya is a person who likes to joke and have fun," said Putri while giving Andi a drink.

"You better drink this. It must taste bad, right?

"Drink again? I've almost finished a teapot full of water," Andi said, refused. So Putri returned the glass of water to the table.

By that time, Surya had controlled his amusement, looking at Andi with a different face this time, looking friendlier than before.

"Hhh..." Surya sighed while looking at Andi.

"I'm sorry if it's too much fun on you, Andi. I just want to know, what kind of man is Putri's friend," said Surya. He smiled kindly, and while taking the glass that Putri had offered to Andi, and took a sip of it.

"But... if I see, you're a funny and humorous person. Why do you want to be friends with Putri, who has fierce and mean?" Surya looked at his sister.

"Who said I was fierce and mean? I'm not that kind of person anymore," Putri turned her face to Andi, realizing that the slyer on Andi's head wasn't there.

"You took off your scarf once, and... Your front hair already looks long, doesn't it," Putri pays close attention.

Andi immediately grabbed the front of his hair. "Oh yeah? Looks like I'll have to cut it off." Andi answered briefly with a bit of embarrassment.

"By the way, Andi. Your face is unique, huh? Are your parents not from here?" asked Surya.

"Me? Uhmm... Actually, the mother of my ancestors did have Chinese descent and happened to be married to a Caucasian (Andi is not sure about this). My Papa is from Indonesia. And I was born and raised in Singapore. Moved to Jakarta because finally, my father can get a job in Indonesia." Andi answered very long.

"Oh, it's only natural. Can you say it's a half-blood, isn't it?" Surya's words this time were different from the previous ones, makes Andi confused, whether Surya is joking or being serious.

"Don't change the subject. Now, I want to ask you, why didn't you tell me about Leyna's condition?" asked Putri. She had already put on a fierce face, ready to interrogate his brother.

"I told to mom about Leyna's condition. And... Indeed I didn't tell dad about this. Besides, everything is in good condition. She just needs to rest," Surya answered explaining. Putri is still disappointed with Surya's words.

"You still have to tell me, Surya! What's so hard about texting me?"

"Ok, I'm sorry, Putri. You don't need to be angry like this. I promise, if something happens again, then I will contact you. My beautiful sister is always worried about her sister," said Surya with a smirk.

Andi is still a listener. Secretly he takes a biscuit that is close to Surya and tastes it slowly. The delicious taste made Andi addicted, without realizing he had hugged the jar tightly while watching Surya and Putri talk.

"And... Is dad know about the news of Leyna's miscarriage?" asked Putri again.

"Uhmm... that's how it is." Said Surya in a tone of disbelief.

"Does it taste good, Andi?" Surya asked Andi. He saw the boy was busy eating biscuits in his hands. He tried to divert Putri's question.

But Putri kept asking, "But are you sure if Leyna's condition will be fine? Surya... answer my question!"

The topic of conversation about Andi did not succeed in diverting Putri's question.

Surya looked back at Putri with a smile.

"Everything is fine, Putri. You don't have to worry anymore because Leyna's condition has started to stabilize."

"I know it's hard for us to lose our future child. Especially after waiting almost two years to have a child, but we are optimistic and believe there must be a lesson behind all of this."

Andi has heard Surya's words, who was quite wise, stopped chewing in his mouth and nodded in agreement, even though Putri did not see her friend's response.

"Hk... hk... this thing makes me want to cry. You have to be patient. I'm sure you'll have lots of kids with Leyna." Putri also hugged her brother tightly for a moment. Then she let go of her hand. She didn't want to cry in front of her brother.

Surya saw his sister's face starting to turn red and holding back tears.

"You're such a crybaby, aren't you? Why are you the one crying?" Surya taunts Putri.

"I'm sad because the current situation is really difficult. I hope we can get together again. And I can help take care of Leyna. I'm sure, should be we can avoid all these sad things," said Putri, wiping her tears that had not yet come out of her eyelids.

For a moment, Surya also showed his sadness, seen from his slightly lowered eyes. "Don't worry. This fate is unavoidable, Putri."

"Before I forget, I have something to tell you," Putri took out an envelope that was in her pocket. Then thrust it towards Surya. But there was no response from her brother, and he seemed reluctant to take the envelope.

"Moms wants you to accept this,"

"I don't need it, Putri. Give it back to mama, and tell her not to worry too much," said Surya refusing.

Putri was surprised by Surya's stubborn attitude. She knew inside the envelope was a debit card with a certain amount of money given by Mariana. Instead of being angry, Putri also gave a smile to Surya.

"If that's the case, it's better if you tell to mom that you refuse her help."

"I was given a task to give it to you, not to bring it back," Putri put the envelope containing the card on the table.

Surya looked alternately between the envelope and Putri's face, after which he just took a deep breath.

It was getting late, Putri decided to go home immediately. Putri also realized that Surya also needed time to rest.

Putri and Andi decided to say goodbye. They promised during the holidays to come back again and visit Leyna.

Andi, who is holding back hunger, invites Putri to eat at the nearest fast-food restaurant.

After ordering a few drinks, potatoes, chicken, ice cream, and a burger. They started slowly devouring their food with pleasure.

"Sorry if I interfere too much with your family matters. But can I ask a question, Putri?

"What do you want to ask?" Putri was enjoying a bowl of vanilla ice cream, looked at Andi's face carefully so he could continue his question.

"I had a feeling that Surya was having a hard time talking about your father. Is their relationship okay?" asked Andi.

"Surya has deliberately left the house since he married Leyna. It's all because of my father, who is just as stubborn, and..." replied Putri starting her story.

"And what?"

"And they haven't spoken to each other in a long time. Surya loves Leyna very much, and my father doesn't like her. Even though I think Leyna is a beautiful woman who is intelligent and independent, unfortunately...." Putri's mind wandered for several years.

"What?" Andi is increasingly curious about Putri's story.

"Unfortunately, Leyna is from a very ordinary family. Not from a rich family or a prominent family. But she is a very independent woman,"

"You know... she opened her cake shop together with Surya. Yeah... even though it's just a small business and the cake shop is not very well known. Everything they started from scratch, a hard effort and proof by Surya to our father, that he will not depend on name family Soedarmo." Putri was silent for a moment after telling the story and went back to enjoying her ice cream.

"Is it wrong to love someone who is not from a rich person?" Andi asked, putting down the fries he didn't want to eat anymore.

"I don't think so. Do you think my father is evil?" asked Putri.

Andi answered by shrugging his shoulders.

"My father is a good man, but he is very strict and too rigid. My father is not easy to accept something new, let alone contrary to his principles. He will see all the backgrounds from everyone especially, with daughter and son in law," said Putri

"Wow... It seems that it will be difficult to get your father's attention, doesn't it?" mumbled Andi slowly.

"What you say?" asked Putri, surprised to hear Andi's words just now.

"No...it's okay," Andi answered quickly.
