HIS SECRETARY PERSPECTIVE

"Wanna go out later, Love?" Edge suddenly asked.

"How about your work for today?" I replied while picking up my clothes in the closet.

"They can call me if there is an emergency." He explained while scrolling through his phone.

"Where to go? A road trip?" I casually asked without sounding excited.

"Tourist spots here in Quezon City? What do you think about it?" He simply answered.

"Sounds interesting? Okay, I will just dress up casually for a road trip." I said as I picked up the black Bardot dress and white bow sandals.

He looked up at me and said, "I will wait outside. Take your time."

I took a bath. I wore a black Bardot dress and white bow sandals. I put on some light make-up and a messy bun for my hair. I took my bucket bag and put everything that I needed for our road trip. Before I went out of the room, I got a text from my aunt asking me why I wasn't home in Pangasinan and where I was. I just told her I was in Quezon City and I was on my leave as well as I was going home after two months.

"Are you done, love?" Edge asked outside the door.

"Yes! Wait a minute. I just fixed my bag." I answered as I checked my bag before going out.

I saw Edge sitting on the couch and holding his laptop as he looked serious.

"Problem, Edge? You look so serious." I carefully asked.

"Nothing serious, love. I always look like this." He smiled as he turned off his laptop and put it in the bag as he stood up. "Let's go?" I nodded.

We were both sitting in his car. I noticed Edge sighed several times.

"Is everything alright?" I curiously asked, "We can reschedule our date if you have something to do today. I can stay at your unit and get some rest." I added.

"Is it okay with you if I bring you to the site? I have someone to talk with regarding my current project." He suddenly responded while looking at the road.

"It's okay, Edge. Let's go then." I smiled.

"Thank you, love." He held my hands and gave me a soft kiss.

He drove to the site. I make myself busy scrolling through Facebook and chatting with my friends. Edge started to talk about his work and his funny moments with his friends here. I just laughed and nodded if I agreed with him. He offered me snacks while we were stuck in traffic.

"How about you? What did you do when I was away?" He suddenly asked.

"I'm fine. Sometimes I missed you, but as usual, I got myself busy while waiting for your call. About my work? It's kinda hard like my first day, but I love spending time with my students, especially when I tutor my nephew. I recently went for a daily check-up "I said as I looked at him, who suddenly looked at me," Eyes on the road, not at me. Don't worry, I'm fine. There are no serious health issues for me." I lied. I'm sorry for lying, Edge.

"I visit your house twice a month. Your family is doing great as always." I added.

"How about you being a writer?" He asked again.

"I got a new contract from a publishing company and I will sign it by October, the first week, I guess. There are also a lot of invitations and book signing events in the following months. I'm working on another story in the making. And speaking of releasing a book, I received an email from my editor that they were releasing my 6th book in public, especially in bookshops. I'm so excited about that." I giggled like I was dreaming of my college days.

"Congrats, love. I'm so proud of you." He genuinely said as he held my left hand.

"Thanks, Edge. And congratulations on your projects." I happily said.

"I will build our dream house soon, love." He suddenly spoke up.

"Soon." I whispered in the chorus as I awkwardly smiled to hide what I felt.

We arrived at the site. While we were walking across the pathway, everyone was teasing him about bringing me here today, but he just laughed and held my shoulder when we were passing through. He left me in his office. He asked me to wait here while he talked to the architect. His secretary offered me some drinks, but I just thanked him. I roamed around his office. I saw a couple of blueprints and our graduation photos when we were in college on his table, especially my solo picture, smiling so brightly.

"You know, Miss Heaven, Engineer Sullivan always talks about you. How much does he love you? How did you two start this relationship? How did he court you before? How did you say yes to him? How did you meet each other's families? How can you two be in a long-distance relationship since you have your work? How do you communicate? And did he want to have a future with you? He always shows off your relationship with him. We, as his friends, felt envious of him that he had you as his partner." Edge's secretary suddenly stated in a happy tone.

I just smiled at him and thought about how much Edge loved me, but I was about to end our relationship because of my selfishness.

"We all knew how much your presence to him became his stepping out of his comfort zone before. You were on his behalf, Miss Heaven. I hope if you two have a problem or misunderstanding by now, please don't leave each other's side. Everything will be fine for both of you. And if you don't know, you were the best gift and blessing that happened to Royce." He seriously added.

"Why are you telling me all these things?" I confusedly asked.

He just shrugged and left me alone. I didn't notice Edge sitting beside me because I was too preoccupied thinking about what his secretary had told me earlier. Does he know something about our current situation?
