The story takes place 10 years before straw hat Luffy sets out on his adventure.

Kenshin, our protagonist who is always befriending other pirates and is planning to create a grand fleet seems to have an interesting back story.

What is it? Where does he come from? Why does he want to amass such a huge army and why is he so fixated on the year 1524?

What will happen during that year?

No one knows.

One Piece: Kenshin's Journey

Leaving the royal palace, Kenshin checked the nearby town and saw the soldiers assisting the citizens and explained to them what happened earlier.


"These citizens have low IQ, they already saw their king and soldiers clearly suffering and knew that something was going on but they still chose to believe Doflamingo," Kenshin said as he compared the Dressrosa citizens with the citizens of Wano.


Viola who was behind replied and defended the citizens, "They were all afraid and only hoped for all of these sufferings to stop, so they held on to the only hope they have and couldn't care less about anything else."


Nodding his head in agreement, Kenshin commented, "You're really lucky because your country has been saved, others aren't so fortunate and would fall in the hands of those pirates."


Viola looked at Kenshin and tried to use her devil fruit power to try and read his mind but as soon as she tried a menacing bloodlust assaulted making her immediately stop prying into Kenshin's mind.


"I wouldn't do that again or else. . ." Kenshin said as he glanced back at Viola who was already sweating heavily.


"I'm sorry," Viola apologized as she lowered her head and blamed herself for her own stupidity.


"Kenshin, what's our next plan?" Hiyori who just caught up along with Jinbe and Izo asked as she glances at Viola who was lowering her head.


Kenshin turned around and faced Hiyori as he replied, "If the royal family decided to ally with us then I want to build a spatial portal here and connect it to Fishman Island."


"What?! are you crazy? you can't even control your spatial rift yet and you are already thinking of building a portal?" Hiyori said completely disagreeing with Kenshin's plan.


"Hahaha, you don't have to worry because I won't force myself," Kenshin said reassuring Hiyori so that she would stop worrying.


"What are your plans with Tesoro?" Izo asked.


Rubbing his chin, Kenshin thought for a moment and replied, "Let's leave him for now, we aren't in a hurry to recruit him."


He then turned his attention to Izo and said, "But It would be great if we have more options to choose from."


Izo nodded his understanding what Kenshin was trying to say and replied, "I will contact my informants and ask them to look for more potential candidates."


Wrapping his arm around Hiyori, Kenshin then said, "It's been a tiring night, so let's go back to the ship first and take a good rest."


Hiyori rolled her eyes, knowing why Kenshin suddenly became affectionate but decided not to call him out.


Viola on the other hand pursed her lips as she didn't know what to do, she already decided to follow Kenshin but he didn't invite her to the ship so she didn't know what to do.


As Kenshin and the rest started to walk back to the ship, Kenshin glanced back towards Viola and asked, "Aren't you coming?"


Hearing Kenshin calling her, Viola immediately brightened up as she hurriedly followed behind Kenshin with a smile on her face.
