Chapter 03: The Traditions

The Little Prince looked around the room where he was in. The walls were painted with bright colors. The pieces of furniture sparkled for they were filled with glitters. There are also brightly-colored children's toys of a different variety. The room looked like a fun haven for kids.

"You liking what you see?" the lady asked him.

"Everything is so bright and sparkly," the little prince replied, "it's like I'm inside a wonderland!"

The lady chuckled, "Indeed, you are".

"What a very lovely room," the little prince says in awe.

"Does it make you want to stay?"

"Stay where?" the little prince asked.

"Stay at this place," the lady answered, "Would you want to leave such a lovely room like this?"

"I would stay if I could miss," the little prince answered, "but my rose, she's waiting for my return"

Her eyes widened, "a rose, you say?"

"Yes miss," the little prince replied with a smile on his face, "a very lovely rose"

"I see, the lady tried to hold her laughter, "an inanimate object is waiting for your return as if it's a living thing"

"So if you may please," the little prince started, "give me the answer to my question please?'

"I'd be glad to!" the lady answered cheerfully.

"Thank you very much!" the Little Prince replied excitedly.

"Before I tell you what this planet is, you first have to know about our traditions"

"Traditions?"

"Well you see when we have visitors, just like you" the lady looks at him, "we follow a routine in welcoming them"

"May I know more of this routine?" the little prince asked curiously.

"We make the visitor wear this," she proceeds to show him an orange polo shirt and blue shorts.

"Oh," the little prince stared at the pieces of clothing in front of him, "then I shall wear these, in respect of your routines"

"Thank you very much young lad," the lady points to a pink door, "you may change there"

The little prince nods and heads to the room and starts to change. He puts on the clothes he was given. These fit him well.

After he is done changing attires, he comes out of the room.

"Look how it fits you!" the lady said cheerfully as he looked at the little prince.

"Thank you," the little prince said as he looks at his reflection in the mirror, "it does fit me well".

"Oh I'm glad it does!" she cheered, "now, go with Mr. James here as he leads you to your room"

"My room?" this made the little prince confused as ever, "I am confused, where is he taking me?"

"This is all part of the tradition young child"

"What an odd tradition this is," the little prince muttered, "see you later then!"

The lady waved him goodbye and shut the door behind her.

"See you never," she muttered with a grin on her face.

"Where are we going Mr. James?" the little prince asked the man.

"What did the lady told you, kid?" Mr. James replied

"She said that on this planet there is a tradition for welcoming visitors," the little prince answered.

"Exactly!" Mr. James exclaimed, "And I shall be your guide in following this tradition."

"Wow!" the Little Prince said eagerly, "I'm excited to know more about your tradition!"

Sure enough, the Little Prince was excited. Ever since he left his planet, he had been traveling around the universe and has been gaining wisdom about different planets. He grew very fond of learning traditions and rituals from the different places he goes to.

"We're here," Mr. James leads the little prince towards a room.

The Little Prince looked inside and saw other children seated at their desks. These children have a pale skin color but not as pale as the adults. This raised even more questions in the Little Prince's head.

"Who are they and why are they so pale?"

"Don't worry about them," Mr. James pats the little prince's head, "they are part of this tradition"

"They don't look okay"

Mr. James rolled his eyes, "Kid listen to me, these children are alright and you don't have to worry about them," he leads the little prince to a lady, "Her name is Miss Shiro and she will be your guide through this part of the tradition"

"Hello nice to finally meet you," the lady smiled at her and offered her a hand.

The little prince took her hand and shook it, "Nice to meet you too," he smiled back at her.

"Be good, alright kid?" Mr. James said as he walked towards the door.

"Where are you going, Mr. James?"

"I am leaving you under Miss Shiro's supervision," he replied, "She is the tradition master after all".

"After this tradition, will I get the answers to my questions?"

"Of course you will!" Mr. James smiled at the little prince.

"See you later then!" the little prince said cheerfully as Mr. James close the door behind him and leave.
