The New Threat
Winter, spring, summer, and fall pass’s by in a glimpse of time. The sun rises up in an early morning to bring life to shine in Emerald village as a new day begins again. Alistor is seen sleeping nice and soundly unwilling to get out from bed as footsteps are heard approaching upstairs. Maigashi and Auroa are talking to each other as they go up to wake him up.
“Are you sure we should be doing this? Asked Auroa. “Don’t you think he had enough already for our own amusement?”
Maigashi smirked as Auroa continue to smile with that creepy look at him. He sighs as they get continue walking upstairs.
“This time I’ll have the last laugh.”
Auroa sighed at him.
“Don’t you always get the last laugh already? So it won’t make any much of a difference.”
They make their way to the door to make sure Alistor is still asleep. He begins to laugh quietly inside.
“It doesn’t matter; this is what amuses me for some fun.” Auroa whispered back. “Guess some things never change.”
They both approach quietly inside Alistor’s room as they open the door. Alistor is still sleeping happily.
“On the count of three we will jump on him.” Maigashi whispered.
“Why three?” Auroa wondered.
Maigashi gets annoyed and puts one hand on his face. “You and your superstitions for over numbers. Fine we’ll do a count to four then?”
“Sounds good to me.” He nodded.
Maigashi begins to start the count as Auroa gets the water ready close by. Maigashi removes the blanket carefully without him noticing. They counted to four before they took action. Maigashi and Auroa jumps into Alistor’s bed to give him a rude awakening .From downstairs the loud yell can be heard from upstairs is heard as master Sairori drinks his tea in a cheerful manner.
“Alistor must be awake now. Time to give him his daily errand whenever he gets down.”
He continues to drink his tea in wait for them to get downstairs. From upstairs Alistor continue to struggle as the two pinned him down. He orders Auroa to hand over the water. Alistor continues to struggle and yell as Maigashi bring out a bucket of water.
“No! Not that! Ahhh!”
Alistor breaks free from them as they both run off. Alistor gets himself cleaned up and ready for the new day to begin.
“This is the fourth time this month.” Alistor mumbled.
He continues washing his face he starts to think back about the final battle involving the Labyrinth and Aggerona Empire.
“I somehow survived the worst of the Vilevelious, Emperor of the Aggerona Empire.”
The emperor’s last words haunted him.
“He claimed to have another brother who will avenge him. I was only lucky to survive. I didn’t have the power to defeat him at the time.”
Alistor finish washing himself he open the window across to get a view. A cloud shaped in close to Bamboo catches his mind.
“If it wasn’t for Bamboo I wouldn’t know we’re I’d be.”
Flashbacks of Bamboo are seen throughout his last adventure.
“I could wonder how he’s doing now…”
He then hears Sairori calling him and heads downstairs. Alistor makes his way down the stairs to find Sairori having an errand for him to run. Auroa and Maigashi was at the side of the tables eating breakfast. Maigashi continues to snicker at him while Auroa just smiled. Sairori tells Alistor about a package waiting for him with Alshrya.
“Don’t run off to procrastinate somewhere on your way. I need that package as soon as possible.”
Alistor gives Sairori the look and head out the door. Maigashi looked back at Auroa.
“He’ll probably be late as usual?”
“He was always late.” Auroa shrugged.
Sairori looks back at them listening to their conversation as they finish up their breakfast. Back outside Alistor makes his way out. Emerald village blooms with life even in the winter. Lights of plant life can be seen downtown. As he continue in his way he finds his friend Katty doing his daily training routine.
“Well this is a first I see you up this early.” Katty pestered. “So what are you up to?”
Alistor gives off an unmotivated expression.
“I got a boring errand to run back at Mathias. Got to pick up a package with this Alshrya guy. Whoever he is.”
Katty is seen slashing through a couple mannequins.
“Well you should get going. We can catch up later back at Sairori’s place.”
“Sounds good. “I’ll see you later Katty.”
His friend suddenly slips in midair looking back. Alistor makes his way out of the village in the vast field of Mathias. Alistor suddenly notices something missing for a brief moment.
“Hey dimwit!”
He looks back to find Maigashi in front of him.
“You forgot your sword again.” You should stop forgetting so we don’t have to keep reminding you.”
A sign of relief was seen on his face.
“Thanks Maigashi. That would have been bad for me.”
“Whatever.” Maigashi waved while Alistor leaves off.
The Kabuki Coliseum could be seen in the background.
“Well guess I may as well get over with this task then.”
He walks causally through the field. Both hands behind his head while looking up in the sky.
“I still wonder where I came from. I don’t even know who my parents are. Sairori and everyone around there is my only family. Oh well I guess it’s better than nothing.”
He suddenly comes across the old path to his school. Now abandoned and left in ruins due to the battles with Aggerona.
“Mr. Rare…wherever you all. We’ll get you one day.”
As he continues walking Rare’s words came back to him.
“When we last crossed. It was during that Arcade incident. He mentioned a promise to fulfill and couldn’t say more. It just doesn’t make sense!”
He quickly clears his mind and forget about it. As he gets closer on his way to Mathias kingdom he remember hearing Tannen would be down there to rendezvous.
“It’s been a while since anything out of the ordinary. Let’s hope it stays that way for now.”
Deep in the depths of outer space a massive machine fortress is seen orbiting around the rings of Jupiter. There seems to be nothing active with life as it silently floats. Deep inside a huge supercomputer is seen as the only light source inside with a timer. Counting down with only a few minute left.
Back on Mathias Alistor arrives to the gateway of the kingdom. With no hesitation he make his way through the crowd to meet Alshrya near the front garden of the castle. Alshrya was seen whistling a jolly tune while watering plants.
He noticed Alistor and gets up and his back. “There you are boy, so you’re here for that package Sairori want I assume.”
Alistor was baffled putting one hand behind his head.
“Yeah I’m here to pick that package up.”
“So how’s that old fellow doing? He hasn’t join me in a cup of coffee for a while, has he been busy?”
“Oh Sairori been a bit busy with things, but I really don’t know what. I’ll be sure to tell him about it.”
Alshrya gets out the package and hands it to Alistor all wrapped up and neatly tight. The two continues to converse a bit.
Back in space Tick tock! Tick tock! The computer voice begins to initiate a countdown.
“All system ready! Three! Two! One! Main engine initiating, restoring all system back up and memory. System auto recovery success.”
Power begins to emit as flames begin to burn through the pipes. The sounds of engines roars through the base. Different types of machines begin to awake throughout the whole fortress. In the throne room a mechanized king awakens. The King pounds the ground with his staff shaking the ground.
“No one makes a fool out of Baronia!”
Another man appears from behind.
“So we finally awaken after all these years.”
“Ah Doctor, there you are. Report on how long we’ve been asleep.”
The doctor chuckled and quickly checks the systems out.
“It seems we’ve been asleep for nearly half a millennia.” He gestured.
The King was suddenly outraged.
“What!” They putted us to sleep that long? Those bastards shall pay for this for crossing with us. Where in the bloody hell are we doctor?”
Dr. Page checks the monitors again.
“It seems our fortress winded orbiting around one of Jupiter’s rings my king.”
“So not only they shut us down but sent us away? Well doctor it seems we have quite some work to do. Set our course back to Mathias. We have some unfinished business.”
The doctor begins setting on course to Mathias. The King walks out the throne to view his massive force waiting. Monsters and pawns are seen lined and ready.
“The time has come Baronia for us to rise and crush Mathias once again. This time we will show no mercy.”
All his subjects continue to cheer on. The King bangs the fence with an iron fist.
“We’re back and back for good. Onwards! To Mathias that shall befall us.”
The whole crowd cheers on as the doctor warps the fortress through hyperspace. The massive fortress disappears in the background.
Somewhere back in an open field Detective Tannen is seen training. Wild beasts are seen surrounding him. Two goes in for the first attack. Without hesitation he smiled unleashing a pair of heavy axes. The axes pierce through both beasts abdomen.
“You fools should be the one fearing me!”
He pulls out his Scythe to cut through another with one swift strike. Tannen looks back with a sinister grin. The rest begins charging toward him.
“Time to end this.”
Tannen unleash the darkness within his Scythe to cut down the rest.
“Well that should be it.”
He begins gathering beasts corpse up.
“This should last for a couple months. Time to return back to Sairori to cook something up.”
As he begin to head back, a change in the air suddenly shifts.
“Somethings not right…”
Back with Alistor. He finish up with Alshrya and was getting ready to leave waving goodbye. A huge earthquake suddenly commenced as the sky grew dark.
“What in the world is going on now?
Alshrya rush’s to his side. The old man looks up in the air with Alistor.
“This can’t be good. Something is approaching.”
Back above Dr. Page brings news to the Baronia King.
“We’re breaking through the planet’s atmosphere. What shall be our first move?”
The King gets up and stretch’s out.
“Good doctor! Now that we’re here, give us a global view of what we have.”
The doctor begins getting some satellite view of Mathias geography studying it. More subordinates of the Baronia Empire are gathered up in the throne room to discuss their first attack. A holographic view of Mathias appears in the viewing screen.
“Silence!!!”
The throne room quiets down. The Baronia King takes a good look at the map and speaks out.
“So Mathias didn’t changed since we last left. It’s been so boring asleep on standby for hundreds of years. But wait!”
The King begins to have second starts before making decision.
“What is the matter my lord?”
The Baronia King summons out a virtual holographic chess board.
“We must approach this differently than before. We last did not anticipate our threat resulting in a shutdown. Let us not underestimate our opponents and test out Mathias’s defenses before we make a real move. Doctor!”
“Yes my lord?”
The King gives his first command.
“Send down a few Baronia pawns to scout the perimeters. We need to know what we’re up against.”
Back below the huge mechanized fortress came into Alistor’s view as everybody around only stood by and watched.
“What is that?” Alshrya asked.
Alistor continues to not take his eyes off the ship. Not paying attention to the surroundings as a few Baronia pawns teleport down to the front gates. Wandering across the gardens in a silly manner the guards didn’t pay attention. The pawns continue to slip unnoticed focusing on Alistor and Alshrya. They approach the two as Alshrya was the first to react.
“Um…we got a problem.” Alshrya pointed.
Alistor continues to ignore his surroundings. The Pawns draw closer to him upon curiosity as some tilt their heads. The mechanical soldiers were faceless with a symbol on their face resembling a playing chess piece. They continue to act silly behind Alistor waving their arms. One of them taps Alistor on the shoulders.
“Not now Alshrya.”
They tap his shoulder again.
“Not now!”
One Baronia pawn gives a palm face expression while some expressed a silent laughter. They tap him for a third time.
“I said….” Alistor didn’t finish his sentence. The moment he looked back he stumbles back.
The Baronia Pawns jumped back and imitated his expression silently.
“What the heck are these things?”
A pawn speaks out for them to surrender. Alistor refuse and draws out his sword. The pawns begin charging in as a battle begins. He makes the first strike at an incoming solider. His sword wobble on impact as the Pawn didn’t felt a scratch.
“What?”
He gets punched in the chest twice by the pawns.
“They’re tougher than our last foes. I need to approach them differently.”
Alistor then decides to play games by moving around to trick them. The pawns quickly take interest in his moves and decide to mimic. He begins getting swift and dodgy remembering the lessons Katty taught with quick moves. A few pawns begin to stumble.
“Got ya!”
The pawns start to feel pain. They attempt to fight back but Alistor dodged them one by one. He trips one over causing it to short circuit. The enemies then draw their spears to get serious.
“Oh crap they’re starting to get serious.” Gestured Alistor.
He tries hard to focus avoiding the speared soldiers taking blows on the chest from unarmed ones. The unarmed pawns quickly got dismantled leaving the speared soldiers to remained as Alistor wonders how to approach. He takes a quick look and notices Alshrya with a gardening hose.
“Hey Al quickly hand me that hose.”
Alistor rush’s to Alshrya being chased by them.
“Here catch!”
He grabs the watering hose quickly as possible and sprays the remaining Pawns with water. The pawns short circuited and fall into place. Alistor quickly falls to the ground in exhaust.
“I barely survived. Man just what are these things?”
Alshrya goes to inspect the destroyed pawns. Quickly pulling out a symbol latched on them.
“This can’t be!”
“What can’t be. “ Muttered Alistor.
Alshrya rubs his forehead in a headache.
“We are now in grave danger. The burden of Mathias is now passed on to the next generation”.
“What burden?” Questioned Alistor.
“The Baronia Empire has awakened and now they’re back for revenge. We must inform everyone. Bring that package back to Sairori as soon as possible.”
“Right….”
Meanwhile back above with Baronia.
“Hmm what have we had here?”
The Baronia King watch Alistor from the viewing globe.
“So they actually have a defense after all.”
“For a mere dimwitted kid to defeat a few measly pawns this should be fun. Did you think he knew that sword he had was blunt?” The doctor questioned.
The King looks out into the window.
“Oh well what’s the fun without a little challenge. After all I could use a challenge after being asleep for ages. Next time will be ready!”
As the Baronia fortress descends back into space, Alistor makes his way through field again on his way back home. Wondering why his blade didn’t hurt them. He then decides to take a good look at his sword he didn’t pay attention to.
“What!”
Back home Maigashi is seen relaxing as Auroa goes to ask him about the blunt sword trick.
“Do you think he’ll be alright?”
Maigashi opened one eye.
“Oh he’ll be fine nothing should go wrong. Anyway nothing been going much anyway.”
An annoyed look is last seen on Alistor. Finally realizing his sword was blunt.
“I’m gonna kill you for this”
