LOVE OF THE PHOENIX

I opened my eyes and saw Ivy peering down at me worriedly.

"Ivy?" I asked. "What are you doing here? My head hurt like hell, and I felt like an elephants were marching inside it. My ribs hurt too and I coughed.

Ivy placed a damp cloth on my lips and said, "Here, first drink some water. You damn well saved our lives Bella, thank you!"

"I felt the refreshing liquid on my lips and licked them." I wanted more. I grabbed Ivy's hand and said, "More please!"

She lifted up my head and gave me a big sip from her flask. I drank it with delight and felt like I was refreshed. This water had magical properties indeed!

I felt much better and even my head hurt less.

I lifted myself up and winced. My body still felt tender, but not as bad as it had been yesterday. I grinned at Ivy and asked, "I feel better already. I thought I had died."
