Paradise, The End of Paradise

Chapter 19

POV Syrup

Ingredients should stay still and accept their fate. It is annoying for the cook for the fish to flop on the board. If it's already out of the water, what's the point of resisting? Unless you have the power to defy fate, like myself, then it's simply pointless.

A short sobbing woman stood in my way but I pushed her aside and I stood in front of the broken form of Captain Celebrity. To be honest, I was quite impressed he had managed to survive…well, not really. If he doesn't receive medical attention immediately, he would end up dying in half an hour or so which was remarkable for someone after being hit by State of Anarchy. As a general rule, nobody under the power of a Yonko Commander (general. Not an actual power level) should be able to tank that.

Still, I did give my word and I was here to finish it. My foot was on his neck to rack it when a hand grabbed my other foot. I knew who it was before I turned but I gave him the courtesy and turned around. If he had anything to say, it would only delay death by a couple of seconds.

Anderson: If you kill him…then our nation is done for…

The president of the world's largest Hero's Public Safety Commission organization did not look so good as he muttered out those words. In truth, I doubted what he said was true. Captain Celebrity, for what I know, had already worked outside of the United States for a certain period of time in addition to being stripped of his Hero license multiple times. Each time America did face some difficulties with some new upstart villains but it was nowhere near the reliance that Japan had on All Might.

Anderson: He has flaws yes…and attacking you was a mistake but he represents us better than anyone. Take me instead. A worker's blame is on his superior, and I am the superior.

A moment of thought. No deep thought needed here.

I merely wanted to keep my word and if this would fulfill it, then it was fine by me.

The foot that was on CC's neck was removed before being placed on the brave man's neck. He was a fool…but quite brave. I would give him that.

Me: I'll give you the courtesy of saying your last words. Do you have any?

Anderson: … God bless America

I brought force down onto his neck as a clear *snap* was heard around the room.

A Day Later

White House Congress

Third Person POV

Alexander: Yesterday will be a day of disgrace in the United States of America. A day in which America was attacked by a figure known as the World's Greatest Vigilante; Snowfallen.

The United States was with peace with the individual having no former contact or conflict. Should we have encountered her, we are certain that the United States would have attempted to form peaceful relations with the foreign vigilante.

Having no such contact or any context, The United States was hit while blind from the said person leading to great casualties that are broken only by the 'Great Age of Vigilantes' over 50 years ago.

While an act of self defense was considered, the casualties of over 200 civilians and three dozen armed members of the Federal Defense Force and 3 heroes including top-Hero Captain Celebrity has cleared any doubt that the assault was deliberate and intended.

The conflict beginning in the State of California has wrecked air havoc across the entire nation to where we stand now, the White House. A distance of over 2,800 miles during which lead to the defeat of Captain Celebrity, the top ranked Hero of the United States of America.

The facts of yesterday speak for themselves that Snowfallen has launched an attack on our land, people, and the democracy and Justice we stand upon. The people have already formed their opinions and I trust they have understood the weight of the decision they have made. A decision in which decides the balance of our morals, lives, and the stability of the foundation this nation was founded upon.

As the Vice President of the Hero's Federal Defense Force and now the temporary head, I have mobilized the Heroes and all Federal Agents to take any and all measures against a second attack from Snowfallen.

We will not forget the slaughter she has caused in our nation.

No matter how long it takes to overcome a seemingly insurmountable power, she is but one while we stand United and strong. Through our combined might and belief in the values this nation stands for, the American people will be led to victory.

I believe I am interpreting the will of both the Congress and people when I state that former Vigilante 'Snowfallen' is to be labeled an official 'villain'. Her title no longer suits her actions of chaos and disruption. Now, she will be known as 'Anarchy' for her actions against the principle of justice as well as endangering the well-being of the American people.

With confidence in our Heroes and the unyielding determination of our people, we will gain absolute victory…so help us God.

POV Syrup

In a disclosed location, far away from the United States of America.

Me: I realized that I've been looking at this wrong…very wrong. Achieving total freedom and continuously growing power…it's not going the way we thought it would have.

Just like back in our world, I thought the most important aspect of this world would be power. To have undeniable and unstoppable power would give us the freedom we desire. Instead, this world has united against me despite their blatant weakness. Their hypocritical and complex laws, foolish morals, and mindless view of heroism have allowed them to get the courage to name us as enemies. Mortal Enemies.

No matter where I go now, I will be recognized, chased, and tried to be murdered. It's nothing new but being done so in this world gives me a feeling of being trapped. Of being limited in my actions.

Ace: So what are you planning to do?

Me: Something we haven't expected but are ready to do. If it are the governments that are setting up and enforcing the actions and laws, then we'll destroy them…one by one. Economically, environmentally, and some through pure power. We'll see how they respond once we send through an army of Nomus. In their spot…we'll do nothing except muddle any attempts to set up a working form of government.

Kyudai: You wish to destroy the world? Make the world fall into chaos??

Me: No. I wish to create a worldwide Anarchy. An absence of the government shall bring forth total freedom of all man and woman. Liberation from laws, rights, obligations and all chains that hold humanity back.

Ace: Anarchy it is.

Part 1 PARADISE, END

The Chapter In Between

POV Christopher Skyline, aka Captain Celebrity

I don't remember much after receiving that punch from Snowfallen. Bits and pieces of pain, darkness, screaming, and fragmented pieces of incomprehensible junk that I couldn't tell if it was real or not.

What I did wake up to was a hospitable room and two months of surgery and three more of physical therapy to get back into shape. I woke up to a nation that was more divided than ever and more than half of them angry at me.

From Pamela I got filled in on what had happened. Snowfallen's demand for a life and how President Anderson took my place. In truth I understood why he would have done it but the guilt that weighed me down on the early days of my recovery…it wasn't great.

As always, the media put the blame of the diseased beloved president on me as well as the segregation this nation was now experiencing. In one way the world was more united than before against the vigila—villain Anarchy. Allied nations with the United States were nearly forced to take the same stance whilst others already had grudges against the said individual.

Of course, there were still many (major) nations who opposed this decision and decided to stay out of the conflict such as the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation but it was more of an anti-American sentiment than an actual decision to stay friendly with the small demon.

A week after being released from the hospital, I had finished writing my letters and emails to the right people about returning to Hero Work soon and had just taken a sweet nap when a rustling sound woke me.

I must be seeing things…there's no way she could be here right now.

Anarchy: Seems you've recovered well Christopher.

In a blink I was up and ready to fight… I might not be in my best condition nor was I facing off against someone I could beat but I had to try…I had to try for Anderson, Pamela, the kids in Japan and for this nation.

Anarchy: This is why I don't understand you. Also, get back down, I'm just here to talk.

She moved across the dark room with grace as she pulled a chair before slumping down on it. She leaned into the cushions before turning her eyes on me. It was as if the glowing and piercing eyes saw everything.

Having no choice, I floated down before leaning back on the headrest and stared back at her.

Shit! Why is she here though!

Is she really only here to talk? Can I trust her after what she did to me?

Perhaps she wasn't satisfied with Anderson so she came to finish me off? God…I still have so many things I wanted to do!

Anarchy: Relax, I've already told you I'm just here to talk

As if an invisible hand grabbed me, I was forced back onto the bed and my muscles lost any and all resistance.

Anarchy: This is what I don't understand. Why are you still a Hero? No…I phrased that wrong; how could you still have the spirit of a Hero after what they've done to you?

As I thought about the recent events, I unconsciously began to agree with her. She was right…she really was.

Anarchy: It is a well known fact that you've had scandals but you are still the top ranked Hero of America. You've saved the lives of hundreds, been brutally injured for other's sakes, and submit yourself under the law when you could have easily broken through…why?

There was only one answer really.

Me: Because I am a Hero.

At least I was now

Me: Don't get me wrong, there are times when I feel like throwing away everything and burn down the haters but what would that make me. I'd prove them right.

I've joined the system for the fame, money, and power and I acted on that goal for many years…but time in this system has changed me for the better.

A Hero's Spirit. A Hero's determination. That is what I have and that is what I have chosen to lead me.

Anarchy: … so you would submit yourself to ungrateful bastards to keep the peace of the ignorant?

Me: No, I choose to hold up the law that makes up the foundation of our nation to keep the peace of the people.

Anarchy: Even the villains that have sued you for doing your job? The people that have blamed you for damage after you have saved their lives? The officials who have stripped you of your pride, reputation and title just for their own political gain?

Her words only reminded myself that I wasn't perfect. I wasn't All Might. Thinking about them still brought anger and frustration; the unnecessary pain I had to go through because of selfish and ungrateful people. Still, it was the realization that such things were what called for heroes like All Might, a perfect beacon to look up at and hope. He could only strive to match that light one day.

Anarchy: Ignorant fools who are so ready to call out for freedom and justice when they haven't given up their own to serve your country like you. When they aren't willing to give up their own rights and peace to uphold the system like you have…and still you defend them?

Yes. I do…because that's who Heroes are

Me: I do…and I will defend them and their rights not because they have earned them…but because they are still part of us. We cover and protects one another, no matter what and I am willing to do what it takes for it.

The young girl looked away seemingly deep in thought. A puzzled look crossed her face as she seemingly tried to put herself in his shoes and still failing to reach the conclusion he did.

Anarchy: I truly cannot comprehend your mind or spirit but that doesn't mean I don't respect it. Anyone who has that amount of determination deserves my acknowledgment, even Heroes like yourself.

She dusted herself off slightly before standing up.

Anarchy: A New Age is coming and it will not favor the Heroes. I would ask you to change your mind but I have concluded that it will be useless. Still, I wish you the best of luck for your survival.

As she turned away from me, I couldn't help but ask.

Me: What age are you talking about? What will the change be??

Anarchy: I thought you would understood when your country gave me this name. It will be one of total freedom, an era of Anarchy in the New World.

PART 2: THE NEW WORLD, START

AN: I think many of you might have noticed but I took the liberty to borrow much of the president's speech from 'A Day of Infamy'.
