Chapter 14
Two people can be seen sitting by the seashore. Holding hands and staring intently at the night sky.
"Are we dead?" Claude asked.
"I am" she answered.
"How about me?"
"It's not your time yet"
Silence engulfed them.
"Then why am I here?"
"Maybe because you miss me?" she joked.
"Yeah, I miss you already"
"Don't worry. I'll always be by your side"
"Don't you want me to stay with you?"
"I want to but I don't want to be selfish, everyone is waiting for you"
Claude stared at her. Admiring and memorizing her face. He knows this will not be the last time the two of them will meet but he can't help himself overthink about possibilities that this will be their last.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" she asked while laughing.
"I don't know" he muttered.
"Idiot"
"Wha- I'm not an idiot"
Both of them laughed and joked with each other.
"Love, thank you for being with me"
Nicole suddenly thanked him.
"Yeah, I can't resist your cuteness so I don't have a choice"
"You're so mean and here I am thanking you. What an idiot"
"Whatever. I will treasure our time"
"You better be"
"So, what are you going to do now?" Claude asked.
"I don't know, maybe I will get reincarnated and we'll meet again"
"Yeah, let's meet again"
"I think it's about time you wake up"
"Yeah"
"Oh, by the way, I left a letter for you. Get it from Kane. Make sure you read it"
"Yeah"
Claude doesn't want to leave but he doesn't have any choice.
His mind is clouded and all he can think about is staying with her.
"You know, I think you should go now"
"I don't want to" he answered honestly.
This made Nicole stare at him. She also wants him to stay with him but she can't do that.
Instead of answering him, she gave him a genuine smile.
"I love you," she said. "Let's meet again in another life" she added while smiling at him.
On the other side, Claude is sleeping peacefully. James is on his side looking after him. He then noticed the tear on Claude's face.
He smiled bitterly, 'they met and finally said their final goodbyes', he thought.
Claude began twitching his fingers.
James noticed this and immediately called a doctor to check on his best friend.
Claude opened his eyes. He was met by the white ceiling.
'So, that's it. I kinda want to stay there' Claude thought after processing what had happened.
The doctor checked him.
James called his family and Freia.
All of them arrived, Claude's mother was crying.
Claude smiled telling them he's fine.
Shortly after that, Nicole's family arrived.
Claude and Nicole's Family stared at each other for a long time when Claude finally decided to speak.
"I'm sorry. It's my fault, you can blame me all you want. I will take responsibility" he stated.
This made all of them cry and confused at the same.
"We don't blame you at all" Kane muttered.
Claude was taken aback by his kindness.
All of them understand that it was no one's fault. It was an accident, to begin with.
Kane then handed an envelope to Claude.
At first, he was confused, but after some time he understands what Kane was trying to do. It is the letter Nicole was talking about with him in his dreams.
"Thanks" he muttered.
The people inside his room leave him be for now. As they understand that the man wants to be alone while reading the letter.

Dear Claude,
Remember when we first met? I didn't expect that you will be my boyfriend for so long. I thought you were really cold and unapproachable but I was wrong. You are the best man I can ever ask for. You're too kind for your own good. Remember your birthday? I really tried my best to surprise you and it was successful. Remember that time in the amusement park? You were really scared of height. I was laughing hard. You're so manly but you're such a baby.
Everyone admired you. Of course, I'm one of them. I'm your biggest admirer after all. The time I spend with you was really fun. Every time I was having a hard time you're always there for me. Every time I want to eat something you will try your best to get it for me even though we're both busy. Every time I want to cuddle with you, you will immediately cuddle with me.
I really am lucky to have you. I want to shout to the whole world how lucky I am to meet you. I want to be with you until we are old. I want to cook your favorite food. I want to see you succeed. I want to go to the beach and relaxed with you. I want to be your bride. I want you to be my groom. I really want to. But I can't be selfish right? I know this is hard for you and everyone but can't you be happy for me even though I'm not on your side physically.
I'll always guide you and every one so please live a happy life. Go and achieve your dreams. Find yourself a good and nice woman who will love you unconditionally. You better introduce her to me. I want you to live your life to the fullest without any regrets.
I'm sorry I can't be by your side to achieve your goals. I love you. I really do. Take care of yourself. Don't get sick and be happy. Thank you for all the years we have spent together, Claude.

After reading the letter, Claude was crying.
It hurts so bad.
I want you to stay with me.
I love you too.
I'll live my life to the fullest so you better watch me up there.
I'll find myself a good and nice woman and introduce her to you.
I'll take care of myself so don't worry about it.
I'll achieve my goals and share them with you.
Weeks passed by and news about Nicole's death spread like wildfire in their school.
The couple all of them admired are now gone.
Even though their story is now long gone, other students couldn't help but admired Nicole's bravery.
