Chapter 5

After a while the door opens and two men come in holding four grey lunch boxes filled with food and a couple of juice and water bottles. They place them on the table and both sit down.

"You must be our Andy," Will says hugging me. I respond to the tall handsome blonde-haired boy squeezing the life out of me his eyes shinning with joy.

I cough a little, realization hits him and he lets go.

"Sorry." He says and we all laugh.

We all dine, joke around and enjoy the food. They both disclose their childhood life to me and l actually enjoy everything. I get to know that they started knowing each other when they were five at Johns introduction to the keeps Merrick company. And they caused a power cut and the whole day had to be postponed.

Ever since, they went to school together and now each of them works at his dad's company as an acting CEO. I got to know that they come from very rich families just from the stories they told me about them growing up.

I actually enjoyed the company l can feel the emptiness creeping away. After eating l went to Josh to give him some left-over food and he thanked both John and Will.

Five days passed, John would come and see me every day even it was less than an hour and Will came over four of the five days with John. The doctor decided l get discharged since both me and my brother are doing fine now.

On my day of discharge

I yawned twice before opening my eyes to meet John's eyes staring at me and l was shocked.

"Finally, you are awake," he says smiling at me.

"Geez you scared me; how long have you been starring at me." I ask standing up from the bed.

"Almost 2-3 Hours not long," he says brushing it off.

"Are you kidding me two hours, not long." I say laughing and he jokes around.

After that l had to fill out a bunch of forms both mine and my little brother's before l could leave the hospital.

"My little hero how are you doing today," Dr Callaghan asks as we all (John Will Josh and me) sit for the last cup of tea.

"I am feeling good, l finally get to face reality." I say spacing out.

"You are one of the strongest people l know Andy and l admire you for that, everything is going to be a dog walk in the park." He says his eyes full of honesty.

"I hope so," l say gripping the cup a bit harder.

We enjoy our last cup; l gave doctor Callaghan my number and so does John. We bid our farewells and we leave the hospital. My little brother bid farewell to Liam as well. As l reach outside the warm air brushes my cheeks lightly and then my whole body feels alive like l have been fully charged, l had missed this. I am suddenly sent back to when my parents were alive l and my mom would walk on the beach just to enjoy the fresh breeze and l miss it no, l miss them all.

We reach a black range rover and John opens the door for me to get in. I get in and sit with John him being the driver. Josh and Will sit at the back.

"Andy?" John calls for me.

"Yah what is it?" I say looking at him.

"What's wrong you look like something is troubling you."

"Nothing l am fine John, l am great actually," l say giving him one of my best fake smiles only mom could see through this smile. He just nods and like he wanted to say something he just keeps quiet.

"John and l thought that you could scatter your parent's ashes today if you are willing, John brought the urns." Will says after a couple of minutes of awkward silence.

"That's a good idea." I say and tell them where l wanted to go. John drives us there and l say my good-byes to both my parents.

"Mom l love you, l never got to say that a lot and l wish l had if l knew this would happen-----." I start sobbing and John attempts to hug me but l refuse l have to say everything l feel l do not want to stop now.

"I am sorry l was stubborn at times, l miss you mom how much l wish l could give all my dreams away just to let both of you live l would have done anything for you if l were to forbid this from happening." I start crying my heart out producing loud noises.

"Dad, you said you will never leave your little detective what happened, what happened to the promise we made when l was growing up how come you are not here with me-----." I fall to my knees and start throwing their ashes in the river.

"Why don't you want to see me grow into that fighter you said l am why did you have to go." I then fetch water with the urns and pour the water on my feet and l sink into my own misery.

Josh starts crying and John takes him for a walk. I am left with Will who was wiping his tears over and over.

"I love you mom, l love you dad please watch over us." And with that l stand up and l run into Will's arms which were spread wide open.

"I can't promise that it will be fine but l promise that we will be there all the way for you and Josh."

And that was exactly what l wanted to hear.

I spend the next ten minutes in his arms and l felt the tears drying.
