Cheng Xiu let herself fall, not trying to get up as she did before. The stairs that would lead to the carp above her disappeared, and instead of looking at the light above, she tried to look into the abyss.
It was dark for a long time. Darkness everywhere. But soon, she saw it. A light.
A smile graced her lips as she relaxed. There was a light at the bottom of the Abyss.
And that reassurance has to be the thing that let the steps appear. Not going up, like before but going down. A part of her wondered if she was going to hell like that one character from an old book who thought she was going the right way and ended up in fires of hell, but that was absurd.
The light there was different.
Cheng Xiu tried to straighten herself again and again, and the feeling of weightlessness was disorienting. Unlike before, she did not feel like she was falling, it felt like she was flying. And it felt like she was going up, instead of down.
