Adonis smirked.
Watching Adonis smirk, Hekate could only squint her eyes.
"There is nothing funny, to be honest. Your life's on the edge of a blade. That weapon cannot save you from anything."
'Do I look like I care?' Adonis tilted his head to the side. He just knew that he had got an awesome weapon. 'Jurisdictions'? 'Powers'? Why should he care? He didn't even have a decent weapon before and was only moving around with hand made ones.
"Now, to the next part," Heckate continued. "You there. Come here."
Hekate beckoned to Miya. The spectors cleared her way as she was allowed to walk in. Hekate probably had business with her but all Miya did was run straight to Adonis.
Adonis dropped the weapons that he had just received. It looked like they had suddenly lost their importance. A moment ago, he did look like a child with a toy when he had first received them but now? He didn't care. No weapon was as precious to him as Miya.
They fell onto each other's arms as their lips planted onto each other.
*cough* *cough*
Hekate coughed drawing the attention again. This was the reason why she had separated the duo using the help of spectors. She had expected something like this.
Hekate had been a lone woman in her entire life and didn't feel comfortable with their public display of affection.
The duo pulled apart wanting to learn what more she wanted of them.
Hekate sighed as she waved her hand. A viridescent light wrapped it and as it dispersed, there was a book in her hand.
"Miya, just like Adonis you are no less stranded nor is your life in any less threat. Not to mention that there was your involvement in passing my trial too. Therefore I bestow upon you the book of witch craft. You have talent in the field and I am sure you would be able to learn the spells."
All witches had primordial blood concentrations of 5-10%. Miya being higher than all of them of course had the capability of doing what they can do. But things weren't so simple.
One needs compatibility with magical abilities to execute them. And according to Hekate, Miya had the same.
Adonis smiled. He felt satisfied at the fact that Miya received something too. His receiving the dual blades already seemed like a blessing let alone Miya's witchery book.
"Thank you Hackate." Adonis thanked her. He might hate Gods to the bone but he wasn't an asshole. He knew how to show his appreciation.
Hekate had chosen to help him when all of the worlds had abandoned him. She might have been forced to do so because of her jurisdiction but that changed the fact that she did indeed help them.
Hekate nodded.
"I bid you farewell then. O, son of Zeus. I hope that you can survive a few months.," Heckate continued. " My job is not only to help the stranded but to help them find a new company as well. Go to the north, there you will find many. They might not be humans but they aren't your enemies either. Now it only depends on you on how well you fare there."
Saying so Heckate waved her hand. With a puff of smoke, she disappeared as a score of crows emerged from the white smoke.
*Caw* *caw*
Calling onto their mates confused about the situation, the crows flew off into the sky. Before Adonis knew it the spectors too had disappeared.
They were left all alone. All of it almost felt like a dream.
"The dead bodies too are no longer there. Were they inanimate from the get go?"
Adonis always found it strange how his enemies acted like monkeys instead of witches. Was it because of the trial? He had no idea. All he knew was that they were acting weird.
'I am no longer at 16% concentration Hekate. It's raised to 17%'
Adonis raised his brows. As he realized that something was amiss. He looked around. He realized that he had left most of his belongings back at the peasant's abode in that dead village. Such a recollection caused him to go pale as he stood motionless.
"Adonis?" Miya squeaked, looking concerned.
The house had collapsed after his exit and so did all of his belongings.
"Oh shit!" he held onto his head hoping that his equipment didn't get stolen. "Miya we need to move fast. We left our equipment back there!"
Miya nodded to holding onto the witchcraft book in her underarms. She gripped onto her axe as she prepared herself for anything that she might face in the future.

"Phew! Finally found it."
After searching for an hour amongst the debris Adonis was finally able to find the sac that contained all of his pieces of equipment. He had gone through such lengths to get his hands on them. How could he lose them so easily?
"Gotta be careful next time," he whispered as he dusted them off the debris.
Adonis broke off his sweat. He checked the contents of the sac to make sure everything was fine.
"Is everything okay?" Miya asked.
"Yeah."
Adonis could only reply nonchalantly as he was more worried about his equipment.
His eyes fell on a book. A book that was specifically given to him by 'her'. It had the instructions of what Adonis must do in case he wants to save himself from the wrath of the Gods.
'What should I do?'
The book instructed him to go to the [Cave of Beginnings] after cultivating her blood. While on the flip side Heckate told him to go north. Which path should he take? He had little idea. He trusted none of them.
