Chapter 13: Over the Wall

Hallie Morgan hadn't expected Dylan Collins's simple phone call to be so effective. He truly was the Wealthy God of Wallam.

She had the feeling of clinging onto a powerful backer. Under the resentful gazes of Linda Collins and Evelyn Olsen, which resembled the regret of having eaten something distasteful, she strode directly into Cameron Cromwell's office.

"I've said it before, I don't accept people popping in midway through the process. Moreover, the matter of selecting Ada Vanderhoof's role hasn't even been resolved yet. I'm extremely busy," Director Cromwell complained. He looked up to find Hallie standing there.

Her long hair hung smoothly over her shoulders, her features distinct and radiant. Her doe-like eyes were clear and bright, free of any flirtatious intent. As she raised her eyes, you could see the galaxy in her sparkling gaze, a sight to behold.

She was dressed in a red one-piece dress, carrying a yellow crossbody bag. Her face bore a refreshing, youthful look, tinged with an element of surprising strength.

She looked up at Director Cromwell.

Her eyes shone brightly, "Director Cromwell, I'm here to audition for the role of Ada Vanderhoof. I hope you can give me a chance," she said.

It suddenly dawned on Director Cromwell that her outfit was exactly like Ada Vanderhoof's character in the script.

Beautiful, naive, pure, provocative, unforgettable.

"You're here to audition for Ada Vanderhoof?"

"That's right."

Hallie nodded repeatedly, her pure sincere eyes seeming transparent.

Director Cromwell narrowed his eyes, examining her from head to toe with the information he held in his hand.

"You're Hallie Morgan? Did you dress like this purposefully for Ada Vanderhoof's audition?"

"That's right. I read the script several times, hoping to best align with your vision for Ada Vanderhoof. I admire you, Director Cromwell, and I have loved the character of Ada Vanderhoof, so I hope you can give me a chance," she replied.

Director Cromwell stared at her closely. After an incalculable amount of time, he finally smiled, saying, "Alright, you'll be our Ada Vanderhoof. Report here in a few days."

Hallie thought she had misheard, taking a while to process his words, and even then only after pinching herself. She realized; she was not dreaming.

Director Cromwell had actually chosen her!

She could participate in Director Cromwell's play!

After exiting the office, Hallie felt as though she were in a dream.

Upon seeing Evelyn Olsen approaching from the other side, Hallie promptly took her leave without looking back.

"Hallie Morgan!"

Evelyn Olsen wanted to chase Hallie, but was unable to catch up in time. All she could do was watch furiously as Hallie left.

She hadn't expect Hallie to actually succeed in her audition.

Hallie secretly jumped over the wall and into the Collins family residence.

The moment Hallie lifted her head, she met Dylan Collins's seemingly calm, but absolutely icy countenance.

"Is the Collins' wall easy to climb over?"

"Sort of, it's a little... high..."

As if looking at a long-awaited prey, he reached out and pulled her up.

"Dylan Collins, I was wrong, I won't dare to do that again!" Hallie's shriek echoed throughout the entire villa.

Dylan Collins looked at Hallie who had collapsed on the floor the moment she entered.

"Dylan Collins, I realize I was wrong. I shouldn't have deceived you. Please don't hold a grudge, as the busy CEO you are, you shouldn't waste your time being upset with a nobody like me. I am but an ant to you, forget me like a minor irritation. It's not worth being angry, if it harms your health, it would be a loss not just for Wallam, but the whole Cangkat Kingdom."

Dylan Collins was so amused by her speech that he burst into laughter.

He was curious as to what kind of brazen words this woman could possibly utter next.

"I don't have farts as disgusting as you!"
