Chapter 14: Checking the Post

Dylan Collins was sitting on the sofa, his elbows propped up on his knees and his body slightly leaning forward, gazing at her clothes dirtied from climbing over a wall. His handsome eyebrows furrowed into a knot, he had never seen anyone as messy as her.

Was there anybody as dirty as her butt?

"You dared to lie to me about an audition, do you know how high the grass is on the grave of the last person who lied to me?"

This was the first time a woman had dared to lie to him.

And the key was, he believed it!

After all, it was also his first time to get someone pregnant, and he didn't have a clue about pregnancy...

"I'm sorry! I was really in a hurry, it's about my dreams, I had no choice but to go!" Hallie Morgan was on the verge of tears. She looked at Dylan Collins and shamelessly clung to his thigh.

Dylan Collins was shocked, he looked down in disbelief at the woman who was truly clinging to him.

He thought 'clinging to one's thigh' was just a metaphor, but this woman had once again overturned his thoughts, actions, and values.

With an incredibly ingratiating manner, Hallie said to him mournfully, "With your help, I got close to my dream for the first time. I passed the audition. I never thought that you, CEO Collins, would be so powerful. A single word from you let people directly open the way for me. Meeting you is a life-changing moment for me. In the future, I will work like a beast of burden to repay your great kindness to me!"

Dylan Collins's face turned gloomy. He shook her arm forcefully but she was stuck to his leg like an adhesive plaster, impossible to pull off.

"Let go of me, let go!"

She was clinging to his thigh tightly, he was disgusted, he stood up, threw off the shameless woman, and looked distastefully at his trousers that were wrinkled by her tugging. He glared fiercely at this woman who clearly had no bottom line before turning to go change his trousers.

And just like that, he left.

"I think I said you're not allowed to touch me, really..." Dylan Collins grumbled in annoyance.

Hallie was speechless. What did he mean by that...

Did he leave to change his clothes because he was disgusted she touched him?

Wow, it couldn't be... he's not a clean freak, is he? If he is, her days to come will be even harder.

"Hallie, Grandpa is here to see you."

At the door, Logan Collins, wearing a very expensive classic tunic, his face filled with wrinkles but smiling broadly, walked in with a sense of incongruity.

"Grandpa... why are you here?"

Soon, Dylan Collins, who had changed his clothes, found out that the meddlesome old man had come again.

When he came out, he saw Hallie sitting on the sofa, peeling oranges for Logan Collins, pouring tea, bringing water, massaging his legs, telling jokes, making this dignified and somber old man laugh heartily.

All these years, he had never seen Logan Collins so happy.

"Dylan, really, I've been here half a day and you haven't showed up, you should learn from Hallie, look how dutiful Hallie is, she's been with me for so long."

Dylan Collins glared fiercely at this clever and flirty little minx.

He didn't realize she was such a flatterer.

And she dares to claim she didn't premeditate joining the Collins family, in his opinion, she had her eyes on becoming a lady of the Collins family.

Hallie caught Dylan Collins's disgruntled look, and quickly recoiled.

What had she done to upset him now?

"Grandpa, what are you doing here?"

"What am I doing here? I'm here because I'm afraid you'll bully Hallie, so I came over to spend some time with my dear great-grandchild."

"It is still a fertilized egg, is that necessary?" Dylan Collins mocked.
