Patrick took aim again. The head moved from the right while Patrick followed it with deadly focus. Tanya had never seen someone locked on a target like him.
The monstrous head was moving closer, his long body bending slightly as if he wanted to peer into the window.
All of them were quiet and held their breath. As they covered their ears, the shot went off. Then again. Patrick kept shooting until the head hung backwards and then it slowly fell.
Patrick grabbed the steering wheel and pulled the craft to the left. “Shit!” However, it was too late. They hit a nearby building with a loud crash.
Once everyone had gathered their bearings, Patrick tried to push the engine to get them away from their predicament. It was useless. They were stuck.
“Shit!” he yelled again and made another futile attempt to get away.
