When Karl turned his face, evil looked straight at Tanya, the grin an ugly split in his face. With that a knowing look crossed his face and he winked dubiously. Tanya shivered involuntarily. He glanced towards her hand still holding the device, and smirked; in that split second, she knew there was another one. This was the decoy.
“Shit!” she groaned in frustration.
“What?” Dirk was taken aback at her sudden curse.
“This is not the real device, there’s another.” She hissed, Dirk moved away from her, out of the water as he gave Karl a lethal look. He walked towards him and with a good, aimed punch slammed his head into the ground before he looked back at her with confusion on his face.
“What do you mean?”
She lowered her arm and rubbed the shoulder carefully. “He deceived us. This is just a game to him.” she pointed out hoarsely. “This entire time he was playing us for time knowing this wasn’t the real deal.”
