Chapter 65: Another detonation

Exhausted she fell down next to her son, his seemingly lifeless body almost covered with the dirt. She turned him around. A bullet was embedded in his right shoulder. He was bleeding from a cut just above his eye.

“Dirk is alive,” Edna called out to her.

“Arno is good too,” John called out.

With that Henk rose, blood covered his face and debris rolled from his body. He was left for dead.

“Glad you are still with us,” announced Edna and he grinned. Also, happy to be there.

“We will have to get them back, John. Radio in and tell Harry to bring the truck with my medical kit. He will have to use the side road. I don’t think it is as bad as the main road.”

“Yes, mam.” he said as he took the walkie-talkie and shouted instructions into it.

“The bomb!” Tanya called out.

“With Rooibaard here we will find it, but you, dearie, are going back to the house with them.”

“No,”

“Yes, that is final.” she insisted.
