Chapter 64: Fear is real

She tried to struggle but couldn’t move. She heard her son’s screams piercing through the sky and fear overwhelmed her even more. She knew she would do anything they asked if they would only leave her son alone.

A shot rang out next to her and she screamed in fright.

“Please,” she begged, tears streaming down her face as she glanced up to where her enemy stood.

“Not so brave anymore, are you Tanya?” and he smirked.

“No amount of begging will get you out of this. Most of your people are dead, those that are not, will be. I will leave your son next to these corpses to bleed and be food for the vultures. That’s if you don’t give me what I want.”

“I can give you the data, but please spare them.”

“So, now you want to bargain with me? I don’t think so. You see, Miss Malan, if there’s one thing that I’ve learnt from my namesakes it is that you never bargain with your beliefs, you stay true to them. Only then people respect you and take you serious.”
