Part 2: Chapter 30: Was abortion the wrong choice?

June 2019, Iraqi desert.

McGee contemplated the situation with Jillian and her unborn child for days.

Life is precious, this baby is precious. Will Jillian see it?

He and his estranged wife could not hold a civilised conversation about this. She believed Jillian should do what she wanted and offered to pay for the abortion. Curt's anger exploded. The repercussions would cause turmoil and death.

Phillip still waited for an answer when he brushed his head. "I was fifteen years old when I learned about Vicky's pregnancy. At the time she was eighteen. So young, with the world at her feet."

"What happened?"

"We were best friends during that time, but the more I reached out to her, the less she responded. She withdrew and became pensive. Then she disappeared for three days. My uncle and aunt were desperate with worry."

"It must have been hard for them. It's times like these that I am glad I don't have kids."

"I should find you a wife." They chuckled.
