Part 3: Chapter 75: Embarking on the greatest trip of his life.

"How do you feel, Pumpkin?"

"Better, Dad." He had spoken to Dr Wright who assured him she was fine.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes, my bag is packed. If you do not mind, could I crash with you? Dr Wright booked me off for two days."

"But of course, Pumpkin." He helped her with her shoes, her movements already hindered by the growing babe. Then he took her bag. "It will be nice to have you all for myself before I go back," he said as they followed the corridor.

"When must you leave?"

"I booked my flight for the Red Eye on the 24th."

"So soon?"

"I stayed far too long already. There are people counting on me, too," and he smiled.

"I know, Dad, but I am jealous. They can spend much more time with you, and so far this vacation wasn't good."

"No, it wasn't, but at least I could spend it with you. I like Lt Blackwell. He is a fine young man," and he opened the double glass doors at the entrance for her.

"Thanks, Dad."
